Telangana Govt to recruit 435 Civil Assistant Surgeons soon
Hyderabad: In an attempt to deal with the workforce crunch, the Honorable Health Minister, Damodara Raja Narasimha has recently announced the recruitment of 435 Civil Assistant Surgeon positions in the Telangana Medical and Health Department. The long-awaited notification was officially issued, marking a significant step towards addressing the shortage of medical professionals in rural and tribal regions.
This recruitment initiative is expected to greatly enhance healthcare services in underserved areas, ensuring that residents receive the medical attention they require. Historically, there has been an urgent need for timely notification and replacement of doctors, especially in regions where healthcare access is limited. The announcement, coming after a prolonged wait of a year and a half, signifies a historic commitment to public health by Minister Rajanarsimha and the state government.
During the National Doctors' Day celebrations, held at the Minister's Quarters under the auspices of the TPHDA, Health Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha was present as the chief guest. The Minister commended the government doctors in Telangana for their invaluable service and reiterated his commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure within the state.
Minister Rajanarsimha highlighted his administration's focus on developing infrastructure in government hospitals and assured that steps are being taken to link all primary healthcare centers with referral hospitals, thus ensuring a seamless healthcare delivery system without any shortages in staff. He also assured that actions are underway to fill vacancies across all levels, from doctors to support staff.
Dr Kathi Janardhan, the Founder and President of the Telangana Public Health Doctors Association, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Health Minister for the prompt sanctioning of the 435 positions for public health doctors. Dr Janardhan also urged the government to further increase the number of posts by incorporating vacancies from other departments to ensure comprehensive healthcare coverage.
Several prominent doctors, including Dr Purnachander, Dr Rambabu, Dr Praveen, Dr Abhiram, Dr Shashi Kumar, Dr Nikhil, Dr Vamsi, Dr Bharat, and Dr Naveen, were present at the event. Public health doctors from various districts also participated, reflecting widespread support and solidarity for the initiative.
The announcement is expected to significantly improve healthcare outcomes in Telangana, particularly in rural and tribal communities where access to medical services has been challenging. The swift implementation of this recruitment process will be crucial in preventing and managing infectious diseases, which are more prevalent during the current season.
