3rd year student of Rani Durgawati Medical College commits suicide
Banda: A medical student hanged herself and committed suicide under mysterious circumstances in City Kotwali area of Banda district in Uttar Pradesh today, a police officer said here.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Laxmi Niwas Mishra said that Usha Bhargava, a resident of Churu district in Rajasthan, was a third year student at Rani Durgawati Medical College.
"On Wednesday Usha initially attempted to commit suicide by slitting her veins failing which she hanged herself in her hostel room," the ASP said.
He said that the reason behind Usha taking the extreme step was not clear yet. "The family members of the student have been informed and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Further legal action will be taken after a detailed investigation and receiving the postmortem report," Mishra said.
