Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reiterated his government's commitment to take the state towards greater development, focusing on education, healthcare, employment, and infrastructure. Speaking during the budget discussion in the Legislative Council, the CM said that special provisions have been made in the budget to provide employment-oriented education for the youth.
Highlighting the importance of education and healthcare, he said, "Education and healthcare are key factors in human capital development, and our government is fully committed to strengthening these sectors. He said that funds have been allocated for the establishment of Science City and Planetarium in Varanasi and Agra.
He said that the UP government is working to create jobs based on the unique strengths of each district. "To support this, funds have been allocated to develop special economic zones across 100 acres in every district. Besides, the state will set up 10 Sant Kabir Textile Industry Parks and two Sant Ravidas Leather Parks to boost employment opportunities," he said.
Talking about labour welfare, the CM said, "Outsourced employees will receive a minimum salary of Rs 16,000 to Rs 18,000 per month and a new outsourcing corporation will be formed to ensure transparency. The government has also allocated Rs 427 crore under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushal Yojana and Rs 50 crore for the construction of UP Forestry and Horticulture University. Special provision has also been made for the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana."
He said, "Every district will now have facilities for dialysis, MRI, and CT scans. While the state had only 12 government medical colleges from 1950 to 2017, today, there are 44 government-run medical colleges and with private institutions, the total number has reached 80. The budget also includes provisions for new medical colleges in Ballia, Bareilly and Balrampur."
Yogi said that 125 new urban local bodies have been formed in UP, making it the state with the highest number of smart cities in India. "While 10 smart cities are being developed with central government support, seven are being built by the state government," he said.
Highlighting urban development plans, he said that special budget provisions have been made for the development of Kanpur, Mathura-Vrindavan and Meerut, following the model of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. "To tackle water logging issues, the government has launched the Urban Flood and Storm Water Drainage Scheme with an allocation of Rs 1,000 crore," he said.
The CM also announced that Rs 800 crore has been allocated to develop Lucknow as a State Capital Region and for the Chief Minister Green Corridor Infrastructure Development Scheme. "To strengthen basic facilities in villages, Utsav Bhavans will be built in every gram panchayat,' he said.

He said that the government is working towards inclusive development by integrating faith and economy.
Citing the impact of the Prayagraj Kumbh, he said, "The event generated an economic benefit of Rs 3.30 lakh crore for the state. To boost religious tourism, the government has made special budget allocations, including Rs 150 crore for Ayodhya, Rs 100 crore for Mathura-Vrindavan, Rs 150 crore for the Banke Bihari Temple and Vrindavan Corridor, Rs 200 crore for Mirzapur, Rs 100 crore for the development of Naimisharanya, and special provisions for Chitrakoot", reports UNI.
