Lucknow - A medical practitioner associated with Lucknow's King George's Medical University (KGMU) recently became a victim of gunpoint robbery, when two goons robbed the doctor of his car and valuables while injuring him in a shootout.
Despite the lockdown, two bike riders on Monday night shot KGMU doctor Dr Vijay Kumar Yadav and looted the doctor of his car, mobile phone and other valuables on him.
The doctor was shot at in Sushant Golf city locality on April 20 by unidentified assailants who fled away with his car, police said.
The incident took place when VK Singh of the community medicine department of King George's Medical University (KGMU) was on his way home in Sushant Golf City from his brother's place at Khera village, they said.

Two assailants stopped his car and asked him to come out and when he resisted, they shot at him and fled the spot in his car, police said, adding that the matter is being probed.
Ironically, while there is heavy policing happening in the area to make sure that there are no violations of the lockdown, the act of the miscreants went undetected
The injured doctor has been admitted to Trauma centre of KGMU, where his condition was stated to be stable, police informed .
