MS Gynaecology of Agra Medical College found dead, FIR lodged against another doctor

The medico was a resident of the Delhi Shivpuri area and was pursuing the course of Masters of Surgery. She was on the final years of her course and has already qualified as a surgeon after the declaration of the results on Tuesday.

As per the Times Of India, the deceased was staying alone at her rented apartment in a locality in Agra. She was receiving extreme pressure for marriage from one of the senior doctors of the district. Scared of the threats of the senior doctor, she called her brother and parents at Agra. They reached her place to take her back home. However, they found her to be missing for several hours on August 18. She was last seen at the medical college at 3 p.m that day. Hence, her parents lodged a complaint of kidnapping against an unidentified offender.

After that, a dead body was found the next morning and the identity of the body was confirmed to be her by the family members of the female doctor. The family members then filed a complaint of kidnapping and alleged murder at Agra MM Gate police station alleging that she was kidnapped and then murdered.

Shedding some light on the details of the case, Ashok Kumar, SHO Dauki told The Indian Express that "On Tuesday, the victim's family had filed a kidnapping report against an unknown accused after they could not establish contact with her. On Wednesday a body was found a few km away from her college. The family identified the body as hers. While the motive behind the murder is unclear, the family has named another doctor as accused. Arresting will be carried out after due investigation."

TOI reports that the family members claimed one of the senior doctors, a resident of Kanpur who is now serving as a medical officer in the district was threatening her for marriage. He was constantly calling the family members threatening them to pressurize the doctor for the same.

The Indian Express further adds that after the postmortem, it was found that there have been several injuries on her head as well as on hands and faces. It is also speculated on the basis of the report that her injuries are indicative of struggle before the murder.

Circle Officer Vikas Jaiswal told TOI that a case has been registered against the accused doctor under the sections of 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offense) of IPC on the complaint filed by the family members of the deceased. Many of the medicos have urged the police to conduct a strict inquiry and demanded strict action against the offender.
