Patient treated under mobile flashlight at UP Hospital, Govt orders probe
Ballia: After a video of a doctor treating a patient at a district hospital while using a cellphone flashlight went viral on social media, the district administration in Uttar Pradesh ordered an investigation.
The video is said to have been made on September 10. Video clips showing a doctor examining a woman patient on a stretcher and other people crowding around have gone viral on social media.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the incident that doctors at the government hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district had treated patients under mobile flashlights for more than an hour as the hospital suffered a prolonged power cut.

District Hospital In-charge Dr. RD Ram said power problems arose after the generator's battery was replaced during a load shedding.
District Magistrate Saumya Agarwal said that the investigation is already underway to discover the viral video's veracity.
The DM said that the administration had taken serious cognizance of the incident and that proper action would be taken after the inquiry.
In the viral video, a doctor was seen examining a woman patient with her mobile's torchlight.
Ballia had witnessed heavy rainfall over the weekend, which led to power disruptions.
Several patients said that frequent power cuts had become the order of the day, and the hospital administration does typically not use the generator.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that a physician in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad had allegedly received threat calls from a US-based number, warning him not to support Hindu outfits or else he will be beheaded. Dr. Arvind Vats, who has been running his clinic for two decades near the Lohia Nagar police outpost under the Sihani Gate police station limits, said he received threatening calls from a mobile number that had a United States number, Circle Officer Alok Dubey said.
