UP Shocker: Female dentist murdered by robber impersonating as cable operator
Agra: In a horrifying incident, an Agra-based female dentist was murdered by a robber, who gained access to the house impersonating a TV cable technician and killed her by slitting her throat with a knife.
The victim's two children, who witnessed the crime, managed to escape but they were also stabbed by the assailant. However, the accused was nabbed early Saturday morning after a brief encounter near the Kalindi Vihar area on the outskirts of the city, a senior police officer confirmed to IANS.
The deceased doctor has been identified as a 38-year-old dentist, Dr Nisha Singhal, who lived with her two children and husband in Kamla Nagar area.
As per various media accounts, the murder was carried out by a youth known to the family who barged in with the intention to rob the doctor. He managed to enter the house by introducing himself as a TV cable operator at around 4 p.m. on Friday, for recharging the cable connection, reports IANS.
During the night of the incident, the dentist was at her residence with her children, the elder one being 8-years-old, and the younger one of 4 years of age, while the husband, who himself is a surgeon was on duty.
After entering the house the accused spotted the dentist alone in one of the rooms and slit her throat which resulted in her death. Her daughters, who were in the next room were also stabbed by the robber violently. Thereafter, the accused escaped the house with jewelry and cash. Meanwhile, the dentist was rushed to a nearby hospital but she succumbed to her injurious. The daughters though severely injured survived and are under treatment.
