19-year-old MBBS student found dead in Dehradun's medical college hostel

Dehradun: In an unfortunate incident, a 19-year-old first-year MBBS student at a medical institute in Dehradun was found dead in her hostel room.
The medical student had been living in the hostel for only a few months and was pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor. She was a resident of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident came to light when she did not answer phone calls for several hours and her room was locked from the inside. The hostel administration then alerted the police. Upon arriving at the college, the police broke down the door of her hostel room and found her unconscious. The police immediately sent the body to a hospital morgue and launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
According to a RepublicWorld news report, police sources said that initial investigations revealed the student was distressed in the days leading up to her death, reportedly due to a falling out with a close friend. The friend, a 19-year-old boy from Muzaffarnagar, was questioned by the police. During questioning, he confirmed that they had been spending a lot of time together on campus, but he denied knowing the exact reason behind her death.
However, amidst the ongoing investigation into the case, a police officer revealed that both the girl's and her friend's families were aware of their friendship.
On this, Dehradun SP (rural, Rishikesh) Jaya Baluni stated, "No suicide note was recovered during the preliminary investigation. We are examining her mobile phone and social media activity to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death. The body has been sent for postmortem and the student's parents have been informed."
Meanwhile, other medical students and faculty members at the college have expressed their grief and demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
