Haldwani Medical College MBBS student arrested for chain snatching in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand: An MBBS student from Haldwani Medical College and his friend have been arrested on charges of snatching a woman's chain.
The arrest was made near Garjia Bridge in Bangapani Toli village, in the Munsyari area of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
The accused has been identified as 25-year-old MBBS student from Mianwali Nagar, West Delhi.
According to the complaint, around 10 AM on Tuesday, the woman was leaving her home to harvest mustard in the fields. A young man and woman standing on a bike on the roadside asked for her mobile phone, saying there was no network. After walking 50 meters, the young man forcibly grabbed the woman, and his friend accompanying him snatched two gold necklaces from her neck.
Speaking to LiveHindustan, the Jauljibi's Additional Sub-Inspector Satendra Pal Singh stated that both the accused met in Haldwani. The accused woman's grandmother lives in Bangapani Toli. She came here a few days ago to visit her. He followed her Bangapani last Monday, and together they committed the crime.
The woman claims that the garland weighs one to one and a half tolas. However, the Police have recovered the stolen chain.
According to media reports, the complainant, a medical store owner, was promised to secure his son's admission to a government medical college under a "VIP quota."
He was seeking admission for his son in an MBBS program. The accused has been identified as a resident of Balkum, Thane.
