Uttarakhand: Fake BAMS degree racket mastermind, 3 staffers of IMC held
Dehradun: The Uttarakhand police have arrested the mastermind, who is allegedly the main accused of a fake Bachelor of Ayurvedic and Medicine Surgery (BAMS) degree case from Ajmer, Rajasthan and three staffers of Indian Medical Council (IMC), Uttarakhand for allegedly assisting him in completing the registration of those who bought the fake degrees from him.
Imlakh, a bounty gangster, was nabbed from Kishangarh in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district on Thursday, the police said.
The three accused in connection with the case have been identified as two personal assistants at IMC and a junior assistant at IMC.

According to the police, Imlakh, infamous as the biggest education mafia of Uttar Pradesh, was the mastermind of the gang of Ayurvedic doctors practicing in the state with fake degrees of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS).
As per a media report in TOI, the STF after, nabbing the main accused received intel of three others who have been arrested later. The three staffers of IMC are charged to have been linked with the main accused. They allegedly provided assistance to the mastermind in completing the registration of those who bought fake degrees from him.
"Amid the ongoing probe, the three were called for questioning on their suspected involvement in the crime. They confessed to facilitating the arrested mastermind in getting the registrations of those who bought the fake BAMS degrees from him. The buyers would then start practicing ayurveda in their respective clinics using the fake degree and the IMC registration certificate," said Kunwar.
Last month, the gang was busted by State Special Task Force and arrested seven persons in connection with the case.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that in a special investigation, two doctors with fake degrees of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and another accused who allegedly provided the certificates had been taken into custody by the Uttarakhand Police Special Task Force (STF). Similarly, 36 more fake doctors had also been identified in the state.
“We have launched a manhunt for Imlakh, mastermind of the busted gang, and had arrested him from Kishangarh, Rajasthan,” officials said, adding that the mastermind was carrying a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head.
“As we zeroed in on Imlakh, it was found that he is a history sheeter of Kotwali Muzaffarnagar. He, along with his brother Imran has opened a medical degree college — Baba Group of Colleges– in the Barla police station area of Muzaffarnagar, which has courses of B Pharma, BA, BSC, etc,” police said.
As per a recent media report in HT, Special Task Force senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ayush Agarwal said, “During interrogation, we had identified 36 cases with fake BAMS degrees in Uttarakhand. They got fake degrees with the tag of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. These fake degrees were prepared by owners/chairman of Baba Group of Colleges Muzaffarnagar, Imlakh and Imran, residents of Muzaffarnagar in exchange for money”.
As per Uttarakhand Police, many criminal cases have been registered against Imlakh for providing fake degrees. “He is called the biggest education mafia of UP,” the police added.
“Strict action will be taken against Imlakh and his illegal properties will also be confiscated under the Gangster Act,” police added further.
Earlier in January, the special task force (STF) of Uttarakhand police busted a racket that allegedly provided fake degrees of bachelor of Ayurvedic medicine and surgery (BAMS).
Senior superintendent of police STF Ayush Aggarwal said two fake BAMS doctors from Dehradun who were running their private clinic on the basis of fake documents were arrested.
