Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital gets Centre's acclaim in pediatric, neonatal care
Kolkata: Recognizing the impressive healthcare services provided by The Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMCH), the Centre has acclaimed the medical college in the field of pediatric and neonatal care.
As per current accounts, the State Health secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam received a letter from the Union Health Ministry appreciating the job done of CNMCH. Furthermore, the Centre had judged the performance of the medical college mainly on two parameters: first, providing health care services to mothers and their newborn babies and secondly, the success rate in the delivery of babies.
In the letter, it is also mentioned that CNMCH has come to own its place among the top government-run medical colleges across the country for extending best treatment.
The medical college has also achieved an outstanding feat in delivering the maximum number of healthy babies compared to the other hospitals in the national level.
According to a Millennium Post report, the labour room of the CNMCH has obtained 88.79 % score whereas the operation theater has bagged 85.33 score.
Before taking the expecting mothers to the operation theater for surgery or even in cases of normal deliveries, the doctors perform several tests. These parameters have been taken into consideration as well.
Also, during their visit to the hospital, the Union Ministry representatives examined if the hospital fulfill all the necessary parameters.
Notably, the state health department has played a role in improvement in the infrastructure in the past few years. There has been an evolution in the healthcare services in government-run medical colleges and hospitals in the state.
In the report, a senior official from the state department said that the Government's appreciation is a depiction of the reaching heights of CNMCH which has assumed a position in the national level.
