Medical Student at SSKM Hospital Under Scrutiny for allegedly Using Fake Caste Certificate

Kolkata- A medical student has been accused of getting admission at the IPGMER and SSKM hospital with the help of a fake caste certificate.
According to the Millennium Post report, earlier, the admission of the accused student was canceled in Diamond Harbor Medical College and Hospital, as it was found that the student had used a fake caste certificate to get admission into the medical college.
After this, a complaint was lodged, and clarification was also sought from the officials of IPGMER and SSKM Hospital. Along with this, the Backward Classes Department sought specific information from the medical college officials to find out whether the concerned student had taken admission in the college on the basis of a fake caste certificate.
In this case, departmental action has been initiated against two officers of the Backward Classes Department on the charge of making fake caste certificates. Moreover, some other officers have also been brought under the scanner of the state government.
Meanwhile, the Backward Classes Department has started an investigation into the fake caste certificate case. With this, the Backward Classes Department has issued show cause notices to two officers. It is suspected that these two officers may be involved in making fake caste certificates. The department has also directed many sub-divisional officers of the districts to check the data. Moreover, the department also suspects that some more officials may also be involved in this incident, reported Millenium post.
In the last one and a half years, 1,400 caste certificates were cancelled after being found to be fake. Fake caste certificates were issued by a gang to secure jobs in various departments.
Similarly, Medical Dialogues has earlier reported regarding the 47 doctors who had submitted fake embassy certificates to secure postgraduate medical admission under the NRI quota, the Health Department of Tamil Nadu has lodged complaints against them before the Commissioner of Police A Arun.
