West Bengal sets up panel for effective management of COVID third wave
Director Health Services and Director Medical Education shall be working along with the expert committee to ensure that all preparatory steps are taken to deal with the third wave of covid pandemic.
Kolkata: In view of the purported Third Wave of COVID 19, the West Bengal government has said there is an immediate need to undertake all precautionary steps to prepare out health system in handling potential situations, especially regarding paediatrics Covid cases.
The state health and family welfare Secretary said the matter has been discussed and deliberated upon in details and it has been felt imperative to constitute an Expert Committee to supervise and monitor the evolving situation and suggest suitable interventions for effective management of Covid 19 third wave.
The members of the said Expert Committee shall be as Dr G K Dhali, OSD(Covid) & Prof, IPGMER, Dr Maitrayee Banerjee, IPGMER, Dr Dilip Pal, Principal B C Roy Children Hospital, Dr Yogiraj Roy, STM, Dr Soumitra Ghosh, IPGMER, Dr Mrina1 Kanti Das, IPGMER, Dr Bibhuti saha, STM, Dr Ashutosh Ghosh, IPGMER, Dr Jyotirmoy Pal, RG Kar Medical College and Dr Abhijeet Chowdhury, IPGMER.
Director Health Services and Director Medical Education shall be working along with the expert committee to ensure that all preparatory steps are taken to deal with the third wave of covid pandemic.
The Expert Committee shall be required to meet at such regular interval as it may deem necessary for executing the various responsibilities relating to assessing the requisite infrastructural, logistical and clinical preparedness for meeting the challenges as may be emerging from the evolving situation. The Committee shall make such necessary recommendations to the competent authorities as may be required for the purpose, the health secretary said.
This order is issued in the public interest and takes immediate effect, he added.
