Telemedicine node installed at Panjtarni for Amarnath pilgrims
Srinagar: A telemedicine node has been installed at Panjtarni on traditional Pahalgam route to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, for pilgrims.
A Public Relations Officer (PRO) of S K Institute of Medical Science said on Monday afternoon that SKIMS, Director Health Service, Kashmir, in collaboration with ISRO, Ahmadabad has installed one telemedicine node at Panjtarni for the pilgrims.
This is first time that telemedicine facility is being provided to the yatris at Panjtarni which is connected to SKIMS & PGI Chandigarh.
This facility will provide them quick access in need of medical emergency.
Director SKIMS Dr Omar Javed Shah appreciated the Department of Telemedicine for providing the facility in collaboration with ISRO. The facility will help the pilgrims in a big way in case of Medical emergencies and exigencies, he added.
