New Delhi: The government termed as “erroneous” a World Health Organisation (WHO) report which claimed that 57 percent of allopathic doctors in India do not have a medical qualification.

“The report is erroneous since MBBS is the minimum qualification for enrolment as a registered medical practitioner in a state medical register to practice medicine, and hence all registered doctors have medical qualifications,” Union Minister JP Nadda told the Lok Sabha in a written reply to a question.

He further said Section 15 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 prohibits a person other than medical practitioner enrolled on a state medical register to practice in the state.

Since health is a state subject, the primary responsibility to deal with cases of quacks (fraudulent or ignorant pretender to medical skill) lies with respective state governments, he said.

Keeping in view the above, the Central government has requested the chief ministers of all states to take appropriate action against quacks and evolve suitable policies to ensure availability of quality health workforce in rural areas, he said.

A WHO report released in 2016, had claimed that 31 percent of those who claimed to be allopathic doctors in 2001 were educated only up to the secondary school level and 57 percent did not have any medical qualification.

The study also highlighted that just 18.8 percent of allopathic doctors in rural India had medical qualification.

  1. Doctors with fake degrees are all over India…they buy the best doctors and consultant prescriptions from the pharmacies and prescribe the same for similar complaints.I am sure that there are so many fake doctors working as contract medical doctors on barges, rigs in Mumbai under ONGC contract…they Photoshop certificates…many BUMS and BHMS have photo shopped mbbs degrees…its a shame that while mbbs doctors had studied so hard these fakes make money just buy photo shopping degrees…iots high time that bio metrics of all doctors are taken….

SOMEONE PLEASE INVESTIGATE: FAKE DOCTOR NEAR MALABAR HILL, MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA

The Malabar Hill, Mumbai police investigated the wrong person regarding my complaint. I submitted a police complaint to investigate the fake doctor, who is the best friend of Dr. Virendra Shah, but the Malabar Hill police wrongly investigated Dr. Virendra Shah and closed the inquiry.

The Malabar Hill Police Station\’s phone number is +91 22236 35513.

    My complaint is below:

There is someone that never graduated from medical school and he is working illegally as a doctor near Malabar Hill, Mumbai. This person has been giving invasive surgeries illegally for many years. If you search for this person\’s medical certificate, you won\’t find it because he never graduated from medical school.

I don\’t remember the name of the fake doctor and his wife, but I know that they are best friends of Dr. Virendra Shah and Rupa Shah. Dr Virendra Shah and Rupa Shah\’s phone numbers are below:

    DR. VIRENDRA SHAH\’S PHONE NUMBER: 91 98206 92200

    RUPA SHAH\’S PHONE NUMBER: 91 99201 85773

Please call Dr. Virendra Shah or Rupa Shah to get the fake doctor\’s full name, address and phone number.

The fake doctor and his wife used to live with Dr. Virendra Shah and Rupa Shah for many years in Malabar Hill before year 2016. Please take necessary action to stop this person from working as a doctor illegally.

    Thank you,

  4. Study of medical practitioners of WHO is based on data given by Registrar General of India and stating erroneous is for hiding the long term failures of successive Governments to provide primary health care to 68% of rural population of this country

  5. WHO is fake agency, they\’re recognising fake colleges like colleges of Malaysia, Mauritius, China and Russia, having unqualified faculties without any infrastructure.
