SMS Medical College : Gang threatens and blackmails residents doctors for money
Jaipur: 15 resident doctors of SMS (Sawai Man Singh) Medical College were threatened and blackmailed by a gang who demanded money through phone calls. One of the resident doctors got a video call from a gang member showing indecent video of a girl and took a screenshot of the doctor's reaction.
The incident was informed to JARD by a resident doctor of the department of surgery. Dr. Amit Yadav, president of JARD stated , "He told us that someone made a video call at his phone number. When he picked up the video call, an indecent video of a girl surfaced on his screen. He was shocked to see it. Before he could understand what was happening, the caller took a screenshot of the video call. The doctor within seconds disconnected the call."
"Within a few minutes, he started getting messages on the doctor's phone threatening him if he does not transfer Rs 10,000 into an account, he would post the video and screenshots of the video chat on his social networking account to his friend. He posted the pictures on some of the doctor's friends wall posts and immediately deleted them but before deleting them, he took the screenshots. He, then, posted the screenshot to the doctor asking him to pay. The gang members make video calls to resident doctors and play indecent videos of girls. They take screenshots and threaten the resident doctors of posting the screenshots on their social networking sites," Yadav added.
