MP HC permits 9 FMGs to appear for NEET PG 2025 after extended internship
Granting interim relief to nine foreign medical graduates who challenged the increased duration of mandatory internship in India, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has provisionally allowed them to appear in the National Eligibility-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025 examination.
Earlier, the HC had allowed them to fill up the NEET PG exam form. During the hearing of the matter on May 19, a HC Division bench of Justices Sanjeev Sachdeva and Vinay Saraf also sought clarification from the National Medical Commission's counsel regarding the reason behind 2 years of clerkship for the FMGs to compensate for their online training. "So you do one year of internship plus exam and additionally one year. Now you're saying that additionally 2 years of clerkship. What is the logic behind that? It's not explained," asked the bench.

Ludhiana Civil Hospital Surgeon suspended over bribery video
In a recent case of bribery, a surgeon from Civil Hospital in Ludhiana has been suspended with immediate effect after a video of him accepting bribes from a patient's family. The video came to light during an event attended by Health Minister Balbir Singh.
The suspension order was issued by Health Minister Balbir Singh verbally during an event called “Saanjhi Raah” (Common Path), held at Pal Auditorium, Punjab Agricultural University. The event was organised by the Association of Psychiatrists (AOP) in collaboration with the Punjab government.

Fire breaks out at PHC in Nalgonda
A devastating fire broke out at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Nidmanoor, Nalgonda district, on Sunday, causing extensive damage to medical infrastructure, equipment, and essential supplies.
The blaze, which is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit, rapidly engulfed the facility. As per the news reports, the fire gutted almost all essential assets within the PHC, including refrigerators used for vaccine storage, hospital beds, medicines, patient records, computers, and printers. Valuable medical equipment and documents were also reduced to ashes, severely affecting the functioning of the centre. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.

DCI Warns Against Impersonators Claiming links to Council President for inspections
The Dental Council of India (DCI) has issued a public notice informing that a few individuals, through phone calls, are contacting and trying to impersonate as relatives of the President, Dental Council of India, regarding inspection and related matters.
Hence, through the notice, DCI has informed that these people are not related to the President or any office bearers of the DCI.
The DCI strictly follows the rules and regulations of the Council in a transparent manner in all aspects and does not contract any institutions or individuals outside the standard official channels.
