Video Recordings of Annual MBBS Exams should not exceed 60 minutes: NMC

New Delhi: The Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has specified that the video recording of the coming examinations by the respective colleges/institutions/deemed universities should not exceed sixty minutes.

Further, the Commission has directed the institutes to cover each and every process of the examinations within the entire 60 minutes of recording.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Apex Medical Commission had directed the medical colleges across the country to furnish the video recordings of the forth-coming annual MBBS examinations of every phase in order to be granted renewal of permissions.

Highlighting that the submission of such video recordings along with the completed Standard Assessment Form- C is necessary to be allowed renewal permission and if the colleges fail to submit such info, they shall have to face appropriate action as deemed fit. The announcement in this regard was made by the UGMEB of NMC through a notice dated February 06, 2024.

Now, referring to its earlier notice dated 06.02.2024, the NMC UG Board has issued another notice on 09.02.2024 and directed the colleges to ensure that the video recording does not exceed 60 minutes of time in total.

"In continuation to the earlier public notice dated 06.02.2024 vide which it was directed to furnish the Video Recording of the forth coming Examinations by respective Colleges/Institutions/Deemed Universities, it is now intimated that the Video Recording of examination for each subject should not exceed sixty minutes and entire recording shall cover each and every process of the Examinations," NMC mentioned in the notice.

Apart from providing clarification regarding the time limit of the video recordings of examinations, NMC has also mentioned in the notice that to ensure transparency, the senior most examiner shall be considered as Chairman cum Assessor of the examination.

"In furtherance to bring more transparency, it is informed that the seniormost examiner shall be considered as Chairman cum Assessor of the examination. Accordingly, all relevant columns including details of the other examiners be filled in place of Assessors by the Chairman cum Assessor under his seal and signature," the notice further added.
