New Delhi: Issuing a reminder to the medical colleges, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the institutes to update the information in their websites by 31st of March, 2022.

NMC has extended the last date, which was earlier December 17, 2021. Directing the medical institutes to comply with the instructions within the extended deadline, NMC has further warned in the Public Notice that "failure to comply will attract penalties".

"The Medical Assessment and Rating Board of National Medical Commission, New Delhi congratulate the Medical Colleges on starting the Academic Year 2021-22. We are happy to see the website with updated information of some colleges. Still some of the colleges have not updated the information till date," read the notice dated 09.03.2022.

"Failure to apply with attract penalties. Colleges shall update their website by 31st March, 2022," further added the notice issued by the president of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of NMC, Dr. B.N. Gangadhar.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that NMC had directed all the medical colleges for displaying the information of their institute on their website and December 17 was the deadline for this.

As per the pro-forma attached with the previous NMC circular, the details that are necessary to be filled up by the Medical Colleges include- name, address with pin code, university address with pin code, official website, dean/principal/director, mobile number, Email ID of Dean, hospital, date and year of registration of the hospital, number of beds, number of beds for emergency, date of first letter of permission (LoP) of MBBS, Status of recognition, number of MBBS and PG broad specialty and super specialty students admitted in this session, In patients registered and admitted in the years 2019,2020, and 2021, number of outpatients registered, number of deaths reported to the municipality/ village register, address and pin code of the corporation/ village where the Death records are reported etc.

Apart from these, MARB had also sought to know about the number of rooms in Men's and women's hostels and the number of students accommodated, name of grievance redressal officer, address with pin code, telephone number, email ID, grievances reported in the last three years etc.

Besides, the pro-forma also sought to know the details of the Post-graduation courses offered, and department-wise list of faculty members as well.

Back then, NMC had clarified that it is a must for the medical colleges to display the information and after entering the information, it shall not be changed or removed.
