IMA Maharashtra extends Support to MARD over NORI issue

Maharashtra: Indian Medical Association, Maharashtra State Branch has extended full support to Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), in their fight against the government's decision of not giving NORI (No obligation to return to India) certificate to doctors willing to go abroad.
In the second week of August, MARD had moved the Bombay High Court, calling government's decision unconstitutional and asking for court's intervention to quash the said government's decision. Understanding the gravity of the situation and its implications on the future of budding doctors in the country, Indian Medical Association, Maharashtra State Branch has decided to extend its full support to MARD in the said matter, both legally and financially. IMA, MS has also given a cheque of Rs 51000 as a token to help them in the legal battle of NORI.
This comes after a meeting of IMA, Maharashtra in Amrawati on 23rd august, 2015, where it was decided to support and make available resources to MARD on NORI matter. Speaking to Medical Dialogues, Dr Suhas Pingle, Hon. State Secretary, IMA Mahashrtra State said, " Resident Doctors are like children of IMA. We shall support them fully. We will also be intervening in the case in front of the Bombay high Court."
