KNRUHS Invites Online Applications For PG Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy admissions Under Competent Authority Quota, details
Telangana: Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has invited online applications for PG Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani courses under the competent authority quota for the academic year 2023 -24.
The candidates willing to apply can apply till 17-10-2023 up to 05.00 PM on the website mentioned in the notice. Applications will be through online mode only. No offline application procedure is available. The schedule for the display of the provisional merit list on the KNRUHS website, verification of certificates, exercising web options for counseling, and closure of admissions will be notified later.
The candidate should sign at the declaration area in the printout of the online application form and also put a left-hand thumb impression at the space provided without fail. The candidates need to submit the printout of the filled-in online application for registration along with enclosures to the camp officer, and helpline center at the time of verification of original certificates and exercise one-time web options as per the scheduled notified by KNRUHS.

Registration and processing fee –
The registration and processing fees are Rs. 4,000/- (Bank transaction charges extra) for OC/BC categories and Rs.3,000/- (Bank transaction charges extra) for SC/ST categories. For GOI Nominee candidates - Rs.4000 + Bank charges.
Verification fee for equivalency –
The candidates who acquired their undergraduate degree outside the State of Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh or Country/Abroad and got their certificates registered with the Council and applying for admission under this University shall pay a verification fee of Rs.5,000/- for degree certificates acquired Abroad and Rs.3,000/- for the degrees acquired outside the State.

Number of seats –
The details of seats for 2023-24 will be displayed on the University website before the counseling.
Ayurveda -
The PG courses in BRKR Govt. Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad, is a statewide course. One seat in the Kaya Chikitsa Course at Dr.BRKR Govt. Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad, is reserved for foreign Nationals as per Government of India Lr. No. R.12013/1/2003 e & c (ii) Dt: 23-3-2004.
One seat in each specialty is transferred to All India Quota. All India Quota seats are filled by the counseling committee of the AYUSH Department, Government of India, as per the rules and regulations of the Central Government (AACCC).
The remaining seats will be filled by the State Competent Authority, i.e., KNR University of Health Sciences, as per the rules and regulations of the Government of Telangana and Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
Homeopathy –
If any new courses/colleges are permitted, those seats will also be filled up, and no further notifications will be issued. 15% of seats in each subject of MD Degree in J.S.P.S. Govt. Homoeo Medical College, Hyderabad, is allocated to All India Quota to be allotted by the Government of India (AACCC) Counseling Authority.
The remaining 85% of seats will filled by the State Competent Authority, i.e., KNR University of Health Sciences, Telangana State as per the rules and regulations of the Government of Telangana. 15% of the seats in Private Homoeo Medical Colleges shall be notified as All India Quota seats, and separate counseling shall be conducted by KNRUHS.
Unani –
No. of seats permitted and available for admission for the academic year 2023-24 after excluding the seats contributed to All India Quota will be notified through the KNRUHS website separately.
Eligibility –
Candidates who have qualified AIAPGET- 2023 are only eligible to apply, subject to fulfillment of regulations; the candidate should secure the following minimum eligibility percentile or above -
50% for General Category (Open) candidates.
45% for General Category (Persons with Disabilities (OC-PWD)) candidates.
40% for SC, ST, and other Backward classes, including Persons with Disabilities.
Ayurveda -Those who have passed the Degree examination after undergoing a course of study in AYURVEDA of not less than 5 ½ years duration, including the period of compulsory internship of any University / Statutory body included in the Second Schedule of IMCC Act, 1970.
Homeopathy - Those who have passed the BHMS Degree Examination after undergoing a course of study in Homoeopathy of not less than 5 ½ years duration, including the period of compulsory internship, or Those who passed the equivalent Degree Examination included in the 2nd schedule of Homoeopathy Central Council Act 1973.
The PG Courses leading to Doctor of Medicine in AYURVEDA are open to the holders of a BAMS Degree of any recognized University /Statutory body included in the 2nd schedule to the IMCC Act, 1970.
The PG Courses leading to a Doctor of Medicine in Unani are open to the holders of a Degree obtained in Unani from a University established in India by a state, provincial, or Central Act or of an Institution or Board recognized by the University Grants Commission or by a State Government or incorporated under a Central or a State Act.
The candidates should have completed the internship or are likely to complete it by 31-10-2023, and they shall submit a Certificate to that effect.
For in-service candidates, three years of regular service shall be calculated as of 30-09-2023. The allotment of seats for service candidates is subject to the rules and Regulations of the Government of Telangana. The admissions into in-service seats will be considered subject to the availability of seats for service candidates and deputation orders issued by the Government of Telangana.
Candidates who are already admitted and studying the PG Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy courses will not be permitted for counseling unless they discontinue the course by remitting the bond amount and the stipend taken up to that date before submitting the application form, and such candidates will submit the discontinuance certificate issued by the Head of the Institution along with the application.
Non-eligibility –
Candidates who already hold a Post Graduate Degree in PG Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy courses will not be eligible for admission into another PG Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy courses.
Reservation –
15%, 10%, and 29% of the seats available in each course shall be reserved for SC, ST, and BC, respectively of Competent Authority Quota.
5% of seats in each specialty course are reserved for Persons with Disabilities category candidates. (PWD Quota reservation will be followed if a sufficient number of seats are available for each course under each category).
EWS reservation will be implemented as per the seats sanctioned by the Government of India/NCISM.
Ayurveda and Unani - Admission to 85% of the seats specified in Regulations 2 above shall be reserved in favor of the local candidates in relation to the local area in respect of the Andhra University, including the Nagarjuna University area, the Osmania University, including the Kakatiya University area and S V University including the Sri Krishna Devaraya University area in the ratio of 46:36:22 respectively.
Homeopathy - Admission to 85% of the seats specified in Regulations 2 above shall be reserved in favor of and allocated among the local candidates of the OU region.
Verification of original certificates –
The university will notify the schedule for counseling which includes verification of the Original Certificate of the candidates and exercising options by the candidates.
Merit list -
The merit position of candidates shall be determined based on percentile and rank obtained in AIAPGET-2023.
Selections –
The Selection Committee shall make a provisional Selection constituted by the University.
The Selection Committee shall provisionally select the candidates as per these regulations from among the candidates who qualified for AIAPGET 2023 as per the merit list.
The candidates shall produce their original certificates for verification, and after verification, if eligible, candidates shall exercise options for the courses they are interested in joining in order of priority. Candidates are permitted to exercise one-time options only, irrespective of the number of phases of counseling.
The candidates shall be called to appear for verification of original certificates one after another, and they shall not enter the selection committee room in groups. Any person who obstructs the proceedings of the Selection Committee or otherwise misbehaves or causes disturbance at the Selection Committee meeting will be liable for disciplinary action as may be taken by the University.
The candidates shall submit their options for subjects in order of their priority to the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will select the candidates as per the Admissions Regulations and Government Rules from among the candidates who have completed the verification of original certificates, are eligible, and have submitted their options. The list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed, and the provisional selection intimations will be issued to the selected candidates.
The Selection Committee shall have the power to review the provisional selection in case of any errors, misrepresentation, fraud, or glaring injustice. In all matters relating to selections and admissions, the decision of the selection committee shall be final and binding on the candidates, and selections cannot be questioned after admissions are closed.
If the candidates, after choosing the subject, fail to pay fees or fail to submit the bond, their selection stands canceled automatically. If the candidates are absent for verification of original certificates and exercising options, they will not be considered for selection at the subsequent selection in the then available courses.
Conditions of admission –
Ayurveda - The Principal, BRKR Govt. Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad, shall verify the correctness of documents. To his satisfaction, he shall direct the candidates to credit the college fee, etc., immediately.
Homeopathy - The Principal of Homoeo Medical College shall constitute an Admission Committee of the college from Professors to verify the correctness of documents. If there is any discrepancy, the provisional allotment shall be canceled, and action shall be initiated as per the Rules.
Unani - The Principal, Govt. Nizamia Tibia, Unani Medical College, Hyderabad, shall verify the correctness of the documents. To his satisfaction, he shall direct the candidates to credit the college fee, etc., immediately.
Candidates joining courses shall execute a bond on non-judicial stamp paper of value of Rs.100/- in the form specified in Annexure-I to ensure completion of the prescribed period of training or in default or for any other reason has to pay Rs.1,00,000/- to the Registrar, KNR University of Health Sciences and shall refund the stipend received up to that date to Government.
The original certificates submitted shall not be returned to the candidates till they complete their course.
Candidates selected for various courses shall be full-time students. Service candidates will have to apply for study leave and are required to produce the orders wherein such leave has been sanctioned to them from the Competent Authority within 3 months of joining the course.
Fees –
Tuition fee –
All the candidates selected are required to pay the tuition fee as notified by the Government. If any of the candidates who have joined in a course is allotted to another course in the subsequent phase of counseling. The tuition fee paid by the candidate will be adjusted to the newly selected course, and the tuition fee paid already shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
University fee –
All the selected candidates shall pay the following fee in the form of a crossed Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of Registrar, KNR University of Health Sciences, payable at Warangal on the day of selection. The fee, once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
The candidates will have to pay a university fee of Rs 15,000.
Stipends –
Stipends may be paid by the Principal as per the orders of the Government of Telangana to the PG students who are regular in attendance and show good progress every month in their academic pursuits. The total period during which the stipends may be paid to the students shall not exceed thirty-six months for the course. No candidate will be eligible to draw the stipend for more than 36 months during the entire PG study period.
Service candidates shall not be paid a stipend if they draw leave salary or salary.
Duration of course and maximum period for completion of the course –
The period of training shall be of 3 years duration in the department concerned. Candidate should complete the course within the duration equivalent to double the period of the course of study. i.e. 6 years.
