TN Health Invites Applications For MD Yoga and Naturopathy 2021, Details
Chennai: For all those interested aspirants who are seeking admission to PG AYUSH courses are informed that the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tamil Nadu has invited applications for admission to three years MD (yoga and naturopathy) for the academic year 2021-22. The last date for filling the application form is 20.11.2021.
As per the notice, the course has been offered by the Government Yoga & Naturopathy Medical College & Hospital, Chennai – 106 and International Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Sciences (IIYNMS), Chengalpattu. All the concerned students can view the schedule as per the prospectus which is mentioned below:

The required qualification for admission is as follows:
The Candidates should possess regular Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences Medical Degree from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University / N.D. (OSM) from recognized University. Proof should be enclosed. Candidates should have registered their names with the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine, Chennai.
The Candidates, who have qualified from other than Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University should submit the Eligibility Certificate obtained from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and enclose the same with the Application Form.
The following is the application procedure:
Application forms and Prospectus may be downloaded from the Health Department website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in from 28-10-2021 to 20-11-2021. Application forms are not issued by the Selection Committee Office or by this Directorate. The Application fee of Rs. 3000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) should be paid through SBI Collect facility.
Filled in downloaded applications along with enclosures should be submitted before the last date along with payment details i.e. e-receipt. SC/SCA/ST candidates domiciled in Tamil Nadu are exempted from the payment of application fee of Rs. 3,000/-.
1.THE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Candidates are advised to read all the instructions given in the Prospectus carefully along with parents/guardian before filling up the Application Form. Fill the Application Form carefully and legibly without overwriting in one's own handwriting and ensure that no mandatory column is left blank.
Application with incomplete or insufficient particulars or without enclosures or those received after the last date mentioned will be summarily rejected. In the event of rejection of the Application Form, no correspondence and request for re- consideration will be entertained
2. All enclosures prescribed shall be Self attested photocopies only. The originals should be produced only at the time of Counselling and Admission.
3. Applications received by Speed Post / Courier or any other means after the last date and time will not be accepted, irrespective of the date of booking.
4. Non-service candidates should send their applications directly to the Secretary, Selection Committee office.
5. Service candidates should forward their application only through the proper channel with the remarks of the forwarding authorities in the format prescribed in the application form to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106. It should compulsorily reach on or before the last date as mentioned above.
If not, applications will be summarily rejected irrespective of the date of submission by the applicant and date of forwarding by the competent authority. Advance copies from the service candidates will not be accepted.
6. A self attested recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the front page of the application form in the space provided. One recent passport size photograph in the identification-cum-attendance card and two recent passport size photographs in the hall tickets should be affixed in the space provided.
7. If a candidate desires an immediate acknowledgement, should advise the postal or courier service. On assigning Application Register number for all the applicants, a list of prima facie eligible candidates will be uploaded in our website www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in along with the corresponding Application Register Number which will invariably be the Entrance Exam Number also. The list of eligible candidates will be uploaded in website "www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in".
8. All information pertaining to MD (Yoga & Naturopathy) admission will be notified in the Health Dept.'s official website "www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in" from time to time. Candidates are advised to check / visit the website minimum twice daily for Entrance Exam Date, result, Merit List, the Counselling Schedule, any further information/intimations, etc.,
The Selection Committee will not be held responsible, if any candidate failed to appear for the Entrance Examination, Counselling etc., No individual correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
9. Both Upper Limbs, Vision and Hearing should be normal for all candidates including for candidates applying under Differently Abled category.

11. In case of unauthorized absence of candidate for one month or more after getting admitted to the course, the candidate will be treated as having discontinued without notice on automatic basis and the vacancy will be filled up from the waiting list depending on the availability of time before the prescribed cut-off date. Candidates will have to give a declaration to this effect at the time of Admission. (As in Annexure - IV)
II. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
• A Pass in BNYS Regular Degree course conducted by the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University / Osmania University / any other University recognized by UGC under regular stream or a pass in N.D.(Osm) under regular-stream.
• Should have successfully completed the Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI) and should have registered their names with the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine, Chennai-106 well before the Day of Entrance Examination for Admission to 2021-2022 Session M.D.( Y & N ) Course.
• Candidate should be a Citizen of India and a Native of Tamil Nadu or should have undergone B.N.Y.S Degree course in the State of Tamil Nadu.
• Candidates of Tamil Nadu nativity who have completed the B.N.Y.S / N.D (Osm) Course in other States shall furnish a Nativity certificate of having his / her nativity in Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority only in the specified format prescribed (as in the Annexure-I) along with the Application and should also produce the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University, Chennai before counselling or before attending the counselling.
NON ELIGIBILITY
• Candidates who join a Post Graduate Degree in any branch and discontinue the course on any grounds after the cutoff date fixed by the Ministry AYUSH / New Delhi / Affiliating University are not eligible to apply for two subsequent academic years.
• Candidates who have already completed a Post Graduate Degree or the candidates who possess a Post Graduate Degree in one Specialty / Branch of study are Not Eligible to apply for admission to any other Post Graduate degree i.e., in other branches.
III. COUNSELLING
Personal appearance during counselling along with All Original Certificates / Documents is compulsory for all candidates who attend counselling. No separate call letter for counselling will be issued after the announcement of results of the Entrance examination. Merit list arrived after the Entrance Exam will be uploaded in the website and in the notice board at the office of the Selection Committee, Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106.
The Candidates who are absent at the time of Counselling will not be considered for selection and also will not be permitted to attend any subsequent counsellings and no request will be entertained in this regard at a later date.
Candidates who secured less than 40% of total marks in case of OC, BC, BCM, MBC (V), MBC / DNC and MBC communities and below 35% of total marks, in the case of SC/SCA/ST communities shall not be considered for Counselling. For Service candidates, the minimum eligibility marks for admission to counselling will be 35% for all communities.
In case more than one candidate has secured the same number of marks the tie shall be resolved / Inter se merit may be arrived on the basis of the following factors in the order of priority.
(i) Marks obtained in the Entrance Examination
(ii) Least Number of Appearances in the qualifying Final B.N.Y.S / N.D (Osm)
(iii) Total marks obtained in Final B.N.Y.S / N.D (Osm)
(iv) Seniority in age will be given preference
The number of seats indicated is subject to change based on the seat matrix provided by the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University for the Academic year without notice. However, the exact distribution of seats, Specialty wise will be displayed on the notice board at the Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy before the commencement of Counselling.
The 69% Rule of Reservation is Applicable wherever there are eight seats and more in each discipline and 200 point roster method wherever there are seven or less seats in each discipline. The selection will be made by counselling based on Merit and by applying the 69% Rule of Reservation / 200 points Roster method followed by the Government of Tamil Nadu whichever is Applicable.
Out of total seats sanctioned, 50% of seats in each specialty and in each college are exclusively reserved / allocated to service candidates and remaining 50% of seats will be allocated to Open category which will be open to both service and non- service candidates. In case an odd number seat remains in any specialty in the total seats sanctioned for that specialty, that seat shall be allotted to Open Category and will be filled based on Merit and Communal rotation.
If adequate number of eligible service candidates are available, in addition to those service candidates selected / allotted against reserved seats, may also competite the remaing 50% of seats allocated for Open Category and will e filled based on the General Merit and Communal rotation. Any remaining unfilled seats for want of adequate number of eligible Service Candidates, shall be filled by Non-Service Candidates on the basis of Merit and Communal rotation.
All Selected candidates shall make a Non refundable fee deposit of a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) by CASH at the time of receiving their formal allotment orders. No allotment order will be issued if payment is not made immediately and the seat will be allotted to the next meritorious candidate.
After receipt of the joining report from the respective Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Colleges / Instittions, this amount will be transferred to the concerned colleges / Institutes and it will be adjusted in the tuition fees payable by the candidate. If the candidate fails to join the course within the stipulated time / date after getting allotment order he / she shall forfeit this amount and any other payments done by him / her and also loose right to join the current session of the M.D. (Yoga & Naturopathy) Programme.
The Post Graduate Degree M.D. (Yoga & Naturopathy) course admissions for 2021-2022 session will close on the cutoff date of admission as prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi / Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University for the academic year 2021-'22. Candidates who have joined Post-Graduate Degree M.D. (Yoga & Naturopathy) Course in any discipline and have discontinued the course on any grounds within six months shall be eligible to apply only after a period of two years from the date of discontinuance of the course.
The candidates who join the Post Graduate Degree course should not indulge in any kind of agitation/strike/ragging activity inside/outside the college campus during the course of study. Candidates found to take part in any such activities mentioned above will be expelled from the course/college at any part of the course of study and criminal action will be taken against them.
IV. FEE STRUCTURE
• The following fees including Security Deposit, Library fees etc., were fixed by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu in G.O (Rt) No. 300, Health & Family Welfare Dept. dated:17-6-1989, should be paid by the each allotted candidates at the time of joining the course in the Concerned Govt. Yoga Naturopathy Medical Institutions.
The Fee Structure is subject to revision from time to time.
a. Tuition Fee -- Rs.1000/-
b. Special Fee -- Rs.1585/- (Inclusive of Security Deposit, Library fee etc.)
• Every student has to pay for sports and welfare funds every year. The fee prescribed is subject to revision from time to time.
• The Examination Fee / other fees will be collected at the rate prescribed by the University from time to time.
V. COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS / INSTRUCTIONS
The candidates and their parents are instructed to follow the standard preventive measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 during the counselling which includes:
1. Either of the parent / guardian will alone be permitted along with the candidate inside the counselling hall.
2. Every person being permitted inside the counselling hall shall be subject to the thermal screening and oxygen saturation without any exemption.
3. Physical distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible.
4. Use of face covers/masks is made mandatory.
5. Frequent hand washing with soap (for at least 40-60 seconds) even when hands are not visibly dirty. Use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers (for at least 20 seconds) can be done wherever feasible.
6. Respiratory etiquettes to be strictly followed. This involves strict practice of covering one's mouth and nose while coughing /sneezing with a tissue/ handkerchief/ flexed elbow and disposing off used tissues properly.
7. Self-monitoring of health by all and reporting any illness at the earliest.
8. Spitting in and around the counselling hall is strictly prohibited.
9. Installation & use of Aarogya Setu App may be advised wherever feasible.
10. RTPCR Test (Before 48 hours) for the candidate and the parent who is attending the counselling to be taken and the result has to be shown on the day of counselling.
VI. Documents to be Enclosed with the Filled-in Application
Candidates must enclose only the Photo Copies of Self attested documents well stapled in the order as indicated below:
i. BNYS / N.D (Osm) Final year Marks Statement (s)
ii. CRRI Completion Certificate
iii. Transfer Certificate from the Institution last studied.
iv. B.N.Y.S / N.D (Osm) Degree certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate from the University concerned.
v. Permanent Medical Registration Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine.
vi. Community Certificate obtained from the competent authority indicating the social status of candidates belonging to BC / BCM / MBC(V)/ MBC / DNC / MBC / SC / SCA to be produced. ST candidates should produce Community Certificate issued by Revenue Divisional Officer.
vii. Identification Card -cum- Attendance card with photograph affixed in the spaces provided.
viii Duly filled in Hall Ticket ( affix photo in the space provided)
ix. Eligibility Certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G R. Medical University for candidates who have qualified from other Universities. This should be produced before counselling or on the day of counselling.
x. Nativity certificate (if applicable)
xi. Recent Medical Board Certificate for Person with Disabilities.
