New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Centralised admission committee (CENTAC) has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to Bachelor of naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, BNYS for the 2021-22 academic session.

Applications are invited for admission to B.N.Y.S. Medical degree course 2021-2022 session in Government Yoga & Naturopathy Medical Colleges and Self Financing Yoga & Naturopathy Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu from the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course Exam (with science subjects) in first appearance.

As per the Prospectus Clause 17) iv) Seats have been earmarked in BNYS course for the nominee of the Government of India/ Candidates from Deficient States/ Union Territories: One seat in each of the Government Yoga and Naturopathy college, Chennai and International Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Sciences, Chengalpattu.

The last date for applying for the course is 25.11.2021 till 05:30 pm. 

Government of India is the nominating authority for the seat earmarked for the nominee of the Government of India/ candidates from deficient states/ Union Territories. As per the clause 17) iv) "Candidates applying against this seat should do so only through the application for issued by the selection committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu compulsorily. Candidates applying against this category (iv) should send the filled in application to the Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi, Government of India, New Delhi through the Government of Union Territory/ Deficient State and on self-attested copy of the application should be submitted in advance withnin the stipulated last date to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu", states the notification.

The tentative date of counselling for BNYS Course is proposed on 13.12.2021. During counseling Special Category seats will be filled up first followed by the general category seats. Hence, i request you to forward the nominated applications for the above special categories within the stipulated date: otherwise the seats earmarked for the above special categories will be brought into the General Category and will be filled up.

Yoga and Naturopathy system of Medicine – B.N.Y.S. Medical Degree Course

Applicants must submit their filled in General Application Form either through Postal or Courier Service or in person along with payment details towards the Application fee i.e. e-receipt.

SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu are exempted from the payment of application fee of Rs.500/-.

Special Categories:

The Special Categories are:

1. Children of Ex-Servicemen,

2. Eminent Sportsperson,

3. Differently Abled,

4. Candidate from Union Territories / Deficient State.

Candidates applying under Special Category should submit the Special Category application along with General Application Form subject to the maximum of three special categories. They should additionally submit the payment details towards the Special Application fees i.e. e-receipt.

 If the applicant is the first graduate of the family then he/she should submit necessary filled in certificates as instructed in the prospectus and also submit a declaration form stating that no other siblings in the family have availed this concession.

Application Form for admission to B.N.Y.S. Medical Degree Courses for the academic session 2021-2022 in Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Colleges / Institutions and Govt. Seats in Self- Financing Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Colleges can be downloaded / accessed from the following official website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in.

Candidates should submit the filled in Application form, downloaded from the website, with all the required supporting documents, along with the details of payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) towards the application cost i.e, with SBI collect transaction ID (Original receipt to be enclosed).

Note: (i) Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyar) / Scheduled Tribe Candidates of Tamil Nadu native are exempted from the remittance of the cost of the application.

(ii) The SC/SCA/ST candidates should submit THREE copies of Community Certificate along with the filled in Application Form for claiming exemption from paying Application cost.

Fill up the Application form legibly, neatly and correctly. The information will be processed by using computer. Any mistake committed by the candidate will prejudice their selection.

Self - Attested Photostat copies of the required documents alone should be sent. Original Certificates should not be enclosed.Incomplete applications and the applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.

6.

The Selection Committee will not in any way be responsible for the delay in receipt or loss in transit of application form or any other ground beyond the specified date and time. Applications of the candidates received after the last date and time will not be accepted irrespective of the date of booking.

7.

Request for extension of time for submission of application form along with all the required supporting documents called for after the specified date and time will not be entertained.

8.

Application form of the candidates along with all the relevant documents received after the due date of submission of the application form or application form of the candidates received without required supporting documents / particulars will be summarily rejected.

9.

(a) Candidates applying under Special Category should apply in the Application Form prescribed for Special Categories which could be obtained on payment of Rs.100/- via SBI COLLECT for each Special Category subject to the maximum of three Special Categories.

(b) Separate application form should be submitted for each special category with necessary documents. The claim under Special Category will not be considered without the required documents, under any circumstances.

Note: Counselling for Special Category will be conducted first followed by General Category.

Special Category rank differs completely from that of the General Category rank. Special Category candidates cannot claim the same rank in the General Category and vice-versa.

11.

Merit list of the eligible candidates, counselling schedule etc., will be posted in the following website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in.

12.

The candidates are instructed to visit the official website www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in at least twice a day for updates from the date of issue of application to till the end of admission process without fail. Selection Committee will not be responsible for consequences resulting due to non- diligent follow up of notices, notification and publications appearing on the website regarding admission to B.N.Y.S. Medical Degree courses for the Academic Year 2021-2022.

13.

General Merit List and the Counselling schedule will be uploaded in the official website, viz., www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in. The Application Registration Number (A.R. No.) will appear in the General Merit List. The candidates can download the Call Letter from the official website by entering the A.R. No. and Date of Birth (D.O.B.).

14.

The mobile number mentioned in the application form should be kept in usage till the end of the admission process. All the communications will be sent to that number through SMS. Selection Committee will not be responsible for loss of communication, if the candidate lost the mobile number or change his/her number.

15.

Application cost should be paid through SBI Collect facility.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

Candidate should be a citizen of India.

AGE LIMIT:

Should have completed the age of Seventeen years on or before 31st December 2021. Evidence should be produced.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks. A failure in examination, reappearance / first appearance, a pass in compartment in one or more subjects will be treated as an attempt.

(a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. (or)

(b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject.

NOTE:- Candidates who have passed any other equivalent examinations with same subjects as mentioned above in clause 4 should produce the Eligibility Certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University before the Counselling date or before attending the Counselling.

Re-allotment is not a matter of right of the candidate. Re-allotment will be done only through counseling on merit basis following the communal reservation, if vacancies are available. If sufficient time is not available vacancies will be filled up with the candidates from the waiting list on merit basis only.

Those who obtained allotment order to the BNYS course in a particular category and college during the counseling do not join within the stipulated time to that particular college to which they are allotted, will not be considered for admission at any point of time later.

Candidates getting allotment through court orders before the cut off date will be given a seat in the existing vacancies available at the time of counseling when he/she actually attends.

If a candidate chooses a Government quota seat in Self Financing College Category when seats are available in Government College, he/she has to give a Declaration to the effect that he/she will not claim the Government seat later during re-allotment / subsequent phases of counselling.

a) Counselling for the Special Categories will be done before the General Category.

b) Any Discontinued / Not joined vacancies in Special Category will be added to General Category.

c) If adequate number of eligible candidates are not available under Special Category the earmarked seats will be reverted back to General Category.

d) Any remaining unfilled seats for want of adequate number of eligible candidates belonging to SCA communities shall be filled by candidates belonging to SC community other than Arunthathiyars as per merit and vice versa (G.O.Ms.No. 55 P&AR Dept. dt: 08- 04- 2010)

e) Any remaining reserved seats in ST quota for want of adequate number of eligible candidates belonging to ST community shall be allotted to candidates belonging to SC community as per merit (G.O.(Ms) No.77 H&FW Dept. MCA-1 dt: 24-02-2011)

f) Any remaining unfilled seats in BCM Community for want of adequate number of eligible candidates after exhausting the merit list shall be filled up on merit basis by candidates belonging to BC community without exceeding the quota for BC community as a whole. TUITION FEES:

The Tuition Fees for BNYS course in Self Financing Medical Colleges shall be collected as fixed by the Hon'ble Justice N.V. Balasubramanian Committee for the fixation of Fee for Private Professional Educational Institution for the year 2021-2022.

a) Detailed information regarding Tuition Fees, Special Fees, Caution Deposit, Scholarship, Fee Concession, Hostel Facilities, University Registration Fees, Curriculum Examination Fees, etc. can be obtained from the Head of the Institution in which the candidate joins.

(b) Candidates selected for BNYS course for 2021-2022 session through Counseling and who will be the first graduate in their family will be exempted from paying only the tuition fees in both Government and Self-financing colleges as per G.O.no.85/Higher Education (J2) Dept. dt: 16.04.2010. Candidates should furnish the self-attested Photostat copies of supportive documents prescribed in this regard also to fill up the Annexure-(V)a and (V)b.

(c) The students of SC/SCA/ST whose parent's annual income is less than Rs.2, 50,000/- (Rupees Two lakhs Fifty Thousands only) and the students of Converted Christian community whose parent's annual income is less than Rs.2, 00,000/- (Rupees Two lakhs only) are exempted from payment of only the tuition fees. The fees so exempted shall be claimed by the respective institutions under the scholarship program (As per G.O.Ms.No. 06 Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department dated 09-01-2012). Candidates should furnish supportive documents like income certificate and community certificate (Self- attested Photostat copies in triplicate) obtained from the competent authority.

(d) The candidates (except for SC / SC(A) / ST and Converted Christians whose parental annual income falls below 2.5 lakhs and 2 lakhs respectively and in possession of original income certificate at the time of counseling) who are selected at the time of counseling shall remit a non refundable sum of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) ( for seats allotted in Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Colleges / Institutions) or remit a Non refundable sum of Rs.10000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) ( for seats allotted against seats surrendered to Govt in Self Financing Yoga & Naturopathy Medical Colleges) by Cash only at the time of receipt of the allotment orders. After the conduct of Registration Subcommittee meeting by the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University this amount will be transferred to the Self Financing Medical Colleges concerned to get adjusted against the Tuition Fees to be paid by the candidates. This procedure of transfer of fee amount will NOT be applicable to Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Institutions. If the candidate fails to join the course after getting allotment order within the stipulated time he/she will forfeit this amount and the seat allotted.

(e) All the Candidates who participate in the BNYS course counseling, should have to pay a non-refundable amount of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) towards Processing Fee by CASH only on the scheduled date of counselling.

(f) If any amount - remains due from the student as a result of revision of fees if any, it shall be payable by the student. An undertaking to pay any amount that may become due as and when the fee structure is revised should be given to the Head of Institution at the time of Admission.

Seats reserved for special Categories in Government yoga & Naturopathy Medical colleges / institutions :

Seats earmarked for the Special Categories will be allotted following the Horizontal Reservation. The seats will be allotted as per the merit order in the concerned special category and those seats will be deducted in the concerned compartment (OC/BC/BCM/MBC(v)/MBC/DNC/MBC/SC/SCA/ST) and the remaining seats will be allotted to the General Category . If no eligible candidates are available for the seats earmarked under Special Category those seats will be added to the General Pool and allotment will be made on merit basis. The other eligibility conditions for admission to BNYS course will be applicable as in the case of General category. The list of Special Categories is furnished in Appendix - I

(I) Seats reserved for Children of Ex-Servicemen

No. of seats reserved : TWO (One Seat in each of Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College, Chennai and International Institute of Yoga And Naturopathy Medical Sciences, Chengalpattu).

The candidate should furnish a certificate as prescribed in the Annexure – II obtained from the competent authority. The special committee from the Directorate of Ex-servicemen welfare constituted for this purpose will scrutinize certificates submitted by the candidates and the candidate will be selected on merit basis.

(II) Seats reserved for eminent sports person

No. of seats reserved: Two

(One Seat in each of Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College, Chennai and International Institute of Yoga And Naturopathy Medical Sciences, Chengalpattu).

Selection will be done by the Common committee constituted for this purpose by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. The mode of selection will be as per the guidelines given in Appendix – IV

Further, with regard to the two seats reserved in BNYS course for eminent sports person, preference will be given to the candidate with proficiency in yogasanas sports discipline over the candidates with proficiency in other sports disciplines if sports points are equal. i.e., (i) In case two or more candidates same sports points, the person having yogasana discipline will be preferred. (ii) In case two or more candidates proficient in yogasana/ other sports discipline, then the candidate's cut off mark will be considered to arrive sports rank.

The candidates should submit two sets of Self-attested Photostat Copies of certificates and testimonials of sports evidence along with application (one set will be transmitted to the Common Committee, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu) to the Selection Committee of Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoepathy, Chennai-106 in person on or before the last date prescribed for submission of application. Scrutiny of the Sports Certificate will be made by Common Committee, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. Decision of the Common Committee shall be final.

Candidates are requested to arrange the certificates in chronological order starting from June 2017 as given in the Appendix IV(A) and submit along with the application in person. All the particulars are to be filled up as per the guidelines given in the Appendix- IV. The other eligibility conditions for admission to BNYS course will be applicable as in the case of General category.

(III) Seats reserved for Differently abled :

No. of seats reserved: eight ( 3 Seats in Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College, Chennai and 5 seats in International Institute of Yoga And Naturopathy Medical Sciences, Chengalpattu).

5% of the total numbers of seats available in Government medical institution are reserved for Differently abled candidates. The reservation of seats in first instance, candidates with physically challenged disability of lower limbs between 50% and 70% shall be considered and in case candidates are not available in that category then candidates with disability of lower limbs between 40% and 50% will be considered. The other conditions for admission into BNYS course will be applicable as in the case of the General Category.

Candidates are requested to produce a certificate from the District Medical Board of the district concerned constituted for this purpose assessing the nature and the extent of physical challenged in the format prescribed in the Annexure – III. The candidate must have obtained the certificate within 3 months prior to submission of the application for seeking admission under this category. If the certificate has been obtained earlier, the application will be rejected. The candidates seeking admission under this category should produce the full size photograph exhibiting the deformity.
