DNB Post MBBS, Diploma Courses in Haryana: In-service Doctors to Avail 50 percent Reservation
Chandigarh: The in-service doctors of Haryana are now going to avail 50 percent reservation in the post-MBBS DNB, post-diploma DNB and post-MBBS diploma courses, according to the State Government's recently released notification regarding the admission to 50 percent state quota seats for the academic session of 2021-22.
"50 per cent of seats of post-MBBS DNB, post-diploma DNB and post-MBBS diploma for the academic session 2021-22 shall be filled through all India merit category of NEET PG 2021 and PDCET 2021, respectively, and the remaining 50 per cent of the seats shall be filled under state quota, in various NBE accredited civil hospitals of the state," reads the notification as per the recent report by Indian Express.
The reservation for in-service doctors have been decided on the basis of the guidelines issued by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), which had earlier clarified that a 50% reservation shall be applied for DNB seats owned by the State Governments.
"A total of 50% post diploma DNB Seats in District Hospitals owned by State Governments in various states shall be reserved for in-service candidates of respective states (subject to the consent of the concerned State Governments to fill them from in-service candidates of the states). Such a reservation for in-service candidates is also applicable for Post Diploma DNB Seats at PSU/ Railway Board/ESIC hospitals," reads the Information Bulletin issued by NBE.
As per the latest media report by the Indian Express, the admission to the 50 percent seats in various civil hospitals under the state health department will be applicable to "in-service" doctors only. The daily also adds that the reservation policy of the state shall be applicable to all the state quota DNB seats as well.
"Five percent seats under the state quota seats will be reserved for candidates with bench mark disabilities in accordance with the provision of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act based on merit lists of NEET PG -2021 and NBE-PD-CET -2021," the notification further mentioned.
"Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Haryana shall conduct combined centralized counselling for state quota seats of post-MBBS DNB, post-diploma DNB and post-MBBS diploma courses along with counselling for admission to MD/MS courses for the academic session 2021-22 through Pt. B D Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak," it also mentioned.
Further adding that the seat matrix shall be decided by the Health Department, the notification also mentioned, "The seats in each specialty/institute (civil hospital) are subject to final approval from NBE. Accordingly the final distribution of seats may vary depending upon the decision of National Board of Examination (NBE). The seat matrix for admission to above courses shall be provided by Health Department Haryana."
Regarding the in-service doctors, the notification was quoted stating by the daily, "An in-service doctor desirous of seeking admission to post-MBBS DNB, post -diploma DNB and post-MBBS diploma courses will have to obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective competent authority of the state government department including ESIC run hospitals, dispensaries etc as per respective PG policy prevalent at that time."
Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a three-year long postgraduate medical course which acts as a substitute to MD/MS degrees. NBE, the autonomous body operative under the Union Health Department awards the degrees.
In Haryana, currently, the DNB courses are running in civil hospitals of Panchkula, Faridabad, Ambala city, Hisar, Bahadurgarh, Rewari, Ambala cantonment, Panipat and Rohtak.
While commenting on the DNB admission, a senior Health official of the Health Department told The Pioneer, "As per the guidelines of NBE, the admission to Post MBBS DNB, Post Diploma DNB and Post MBBS Diploma courses under 50 percent state quota seats will be applicable to 'in-service doctors' only."
He further informed the daily that 50 percent seats would now be filled through All India Merit category of NEET PG 2021 and PDCET 2021.
Currently, Haryana civil hospitals offer DNB courses in 58 seats. However, the health department official has informed the daily that inspections by NBE is going on and DNB seats would be increased in nine civil hospitals of the State.
The in-service doctors eligible for admission to DNB courses in Haryana state quota seats will have to pay Rs 1,48000 on annual basis.
