Fake Alert: PIB Shuts Rumours of NEET PG 2022 Getting Postponed
New Delhi: Shutting up rumours of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test getting postponed, the Twitter handle of PIB Fact Check has clarified that no such order has been issued for deferring the PG medical entrance test in 2022.
This comes after an alleged notice by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) started doing rounds on the internet and claimed that the PG medical entrance test which is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2022, has been postponed considering the current COVID-19 situation.
"The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt of India vide its letter no. V.11025/215/2020-MEP(FTS-8079808) dated 10.01.2022 has directed that in light of the present situation of COVID-10 pandemic and taking into account the safety and well-being of the students, the conduct of NEET-PG 2022 examination scheduled to be held on 12th of March 2022 be postponed," read the notice.
"The next date of NEET-PG 2022 examination would be announced after reviewing the situation later," it added.
This led the aspirants into a huge dilemma as they only have a few months time left to prepare for the exam.
"only 2 months are left for neet pg 2022 allotted date, please reconfirm whether it's tentative or postponed. You are the deciding body for a reason, don't stain that please. Thank you," wrote one Twitter user.
Raising fake alarm, another user wrote, "Shared by Union Health Ministry: This image circulating on social media claiming that the NEET PG 2022 exam scheduled for Mar 12 is now postponed IS FAKE. No such circular released by the GoI so far."
Following this, the Twitter handle of PIB Fact Check clarified all concerns of the aspirants and assured that no such notice has been issued by the NBE.
"A public notice purportedly issued by the National Board of Examinations claims that the NEET-PG 2022 examination scheduled to be held on 12th March 2022 has been postponed," mentioned the Tweet.
Clarifying the rumours, PIB mentioned in its Tweet, "This claim is #Fake" and "No such order/notice has been issued by the board."
