In its notice, the NMC said, "The fresh enrolments for Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) Program have been put on hold, till a new academic cell/committee is constituted to look into the details of conduct of ACME, as proposed by NMC."

In keeping up with the multi-tier approach to strengthen the quality of medical education in India, one year program of Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) was introduced in 2014.

The Advance Course in Medical Education is a project-based course of one-year duration and has two contact sessions of 5 days and 3 days with one overlapping day when two batches meet and interact.
