In fact, from July 2022, the State has made arrangements for commencing BTech courses in 6 engineering colleges and diploma courses in 6 polytechnic colleges of the state in Hindi.

The plans for offering MBBS course in Hindi has been going on for quite some time. Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang on January 28 had decided to form a committee to prepare a plan and submit a report for translating the MBBS syllabus into Hindi.

Later, the Department of medical education came up with a plan to translate the MBBS syllabus into Hindi which would also benefit the Hindi medium students. Medical Education Minister, Vishwas Sarang also reported "Our government has decided to offer MBBS education in the Hindi medium, as well. Hindi is our national language and there was a long-standing demand from various sections that MBBS education should also be provided in Hindi. Various researches have also shown that learning in one's mother tongue is beneficial and offers better results. It's scientifically proven. The whole syllabus will be translated without making any changes to it. We decided to translate the curriculum and start the MBBS education in the Hindi medium as early as possible."

Minister Sarang had also said that Bhopal's Gandhi Medical College would start offering MBBS courses in Hindi language from April 2022. He had mentioned, "MBBS will be taught in Hindi medium. Bhopal's Gandhi Medical College to start offering MBBS course in Hindi from April."

Such an announcement was made by the Chief Minister Chouhan when he virtually participated in the Education Summit-2022 organized by a newspaper group in New Delhi.

The Chief Minister referred to the National Policy on Education and how its lays special emphasis on study and teaching process in the mother tongue. He further confirmed that effective initiatives have been taken in this regard in Madhya Pradesh.

CM Chouhan further referred to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's description of 5 Cs that are important for better education including Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Curiosity and Communication.

He assured that the State is working on all these fields of education and mentioned how the Prime Minister has taken a visionary initiative by gifting new education policy for the country. This new policy combines knowledge, skills and values in the truest sense. The new policy also includes the importance of knowledge in five forms.

The entire process consists of handing over Indian knowledge and philosophy to the new generations through education, and it also includes concept based education system and freeing education from number game and cut-throat competition, and converting it into grading and healthy competition.

Besides, the promotion of research and making education multidimensional is also important parts of the new education policy.

The daily further adds, that Madhya Pradesh Government has initiated arrangements from July 2022 to commence BTech courses in 6 engineering and diploma courses in 6 polytechnic colleges of the State via Hindi language.

While the State is preparing to offer MBBS course in Hindi language, it should be mentioned in this context that last year the President of the Undergraduate Medical Education Board of NMC, Aruna V Vanikar had clarified that MBBS in Hindi would not be a feasible option and if any State Government implements such a plan, it wouldn't be recognized by NMC.

Back then, Aruna V Vanikar had said, "The rules do not approve teaching-learning MBBS in any other language other than English and there is no plan to change the existing norms."

"If any state government goes ahead and introduces such a course, it will not be recognized by the NMC," she had added.
