26-year-old PG medico found dead, family alleges suicide due to academic pressure
Suicide
Chennai: In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old second-year postgraduate student in the department of general medicine at Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her rented residence in TP Chathiram.
While police suspect the case to be a suicide, the deceased doctor's parents, after being informed of their daughter's death, alleged that she might have committed suicide due to intense academic pressure. Her father claimed that she was under constant stress related to her studies, which might have driven her to take the extreme step.
No suicide note was recovered from the scene, prompting the police to investigate the case from all angles. Authorities are also examining whether any developments in her personal life may have contributed to her mental distress apart from alleged academic pressure.
