Gujarat MBBS Graduates in Dilemma over Bond Service Postings and NEET PG 2024 Date
Ahmedabad: More than 1,100 MBBS graduates in Gujarat in a fix over the State Health Department's order directing them to join their one-year mandatory bond duty at government hospitals in rural and urban areas, as they are going to appear in the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024 examination, scheduled to be conducted on August 11.
Therefore, the students are now urging the authorities to postpone the reporting time for their bond service postings after August 15, 2024, so that they could appear in the NEET PG 2024 exam, TOI has reported.
These medicos have completed their internship and now as per the bond service terms executed at the time of their MBBS admission, they are required to undergo one year mandatory service at the government hospitals.
While they have been directed to report to their positions offered to them for their bond service, the post-graduate medical entrance exam i.e. NEET PG 2024 is scheduled to take place on August 11 this year.

As per the latest media report by the Times of India, most of these students have been preparing for the PG entrance test and therefore they will not be able to start their bond duty, because according to the rules they are not allowed to leave their duty midway through the mandatory one-year period.
Further, if the students clear the NEET-PG exam, they need to either confirm their PG medical admission or let go of their seats. Sources informed the Daily that the students are demanding for a postponed reporting period after August 15, so that they can appear in the NEET PG 2024 exam.
Meanwhile, it is expected that the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will release the NEET PG exam city allotment details today i.e. on 29th July, 2024.
The information regarding the release of NEET PG exam 2024 exam city allotment will be shared with the candidates on their registered email ID and it will not be available on the official website of the exam.
This year's NEET-PG 2024 examination, was previously scheduled to be conducted on June 23 2024. However, the PG medical entrance test will now be held on 11th August 2024 in two shifts.
The NEET PG exam comprises 200 Multiple Choice Questions with each question having 4 options in English only. Candidates are required to select the correct answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question. the examination time to complete the paper is 3 hours and 30 minutes. There shall be a 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
