INI CET 2020: PG Medical Counselling begins today
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has informed about the commencement of 1st round of online seat allocation (Institute and Subject/Speciality)/ Process for [MD/MS/DM(6Years)/MCH(6Years)/MDS] January 2021 Session.
All the candidates who qualified the INI CET 2020 will be able to appear for the counselling process to PG medical courses this year at AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS. The Institutes of National Importance-Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) is for admission to MD, MS, DM, MCh in Institutes of National Importance for medical education including the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) at New Delhi, all new AIIMS, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) at Puducherry, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research at Chandigarh (PGIMER), and National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) at Bengaluru.
The procedure of seat allocation for the January 2021 session is different from the procedure followed in the past.
Eligibility
Eligibility criteria as per INI-CET Prospectus Part-A & Part-B including any notices published has been applied considering the information provided by the candidates in online registration form.
All the candidates who have been listed in the Notice No.152/2020 dated 14.12.2020 will be eligible to participate in the 1st Round of the Online Seat Allocation. This shall be subjected to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the prospectus/notices published on website www.aiimsexams.org.
Procedure :
1. The eligible candidates will have to Register themselves on PG Online Seat Allocation portal [PAAS/PG MedDen JAN 2021 of INI-CET]. The link for the portal will be activated only for eligible candidates in the MyPage. Candidate can login in in using the credential that have been used for filling application form and completing other processes related to INI-CET PG Entrance Examination for January 2021 session.
2. The PG Online Seat Allocation portal will allow candidates to make choices of seats (a combination of Institute and subject/speciality) as per his eligibility. The candidate can arrange the choices in desired order preference. There is no limitation on number of choices (Institute & Subject/Speciality) that can be made by the candidates. The choices can be edited and reordered within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
3. The Portal will remain open on dates specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal. The choices made by the candidate will be locked either by the candidate OR will be automatically locked on the last Date and Time as specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
4. A Mock Seat Allocation will be done during the 1st Round of Seat Allocation. The mock seat allocation represents the likely seat that a candidate may be allocated as per choices made by the candidate. During the announcement of mock seat allocation, the candidate can continue to register/edit/reorder their choices before the closing dates of choices for the 1st Round as per Important Dates link in the Portal.
5. Institute preference:
a) AIIMS New Delhi - The seat allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2. The order of seat allocation will be UR/50% AIIMS preferential/ OBC/SC/ST/EWS as per past practice. When a reserved candidate who is in the combined merit list is being allocated a seat, a higher preference seat, if available in the concerned reserved category, will automatically be allocated. If a subject being allocated as per choice by such a candidate is simultaneously available both in the unreserved and reserved category at the time of allocation of his/her rank, then the unreserved seat will be allocated. The allocation of seats in the reserved category will be done only after completion of the allocation of seats in the unreserved category.
b) Seven other AIIMS: AIIMS Preferential seats are being allocated as per directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and guidelines thereof. AIIMS preferential seats are being allocated for the candidates of AIIMS New Delhi. At AIIMS Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur & Rishikesh – Institutional Preference shall not be applicable in view of the guidelines of AIIMS preferential seat allocation in reference to judgement of Hon'ble Supreme Court. No PG seat available for Seat Allocation in AIIMS Nagpur .
c) JIPMER, Puducherry: Allocation of Institute preference for JIPMER Puducherry candidates, seats shall be done as per Roster Point (Dynamic) available at Page-20 of the Prospectus, Part-B of JIPMER.
d) NIMHANS, Bengaluru: No seat available for Institute Preference.
e) PGIMER, Chandigarh: - No seat available for Institute Preference.
6. The mock seat allocation and seat allocation for 1st Round shall be done as per schedule specified in the Important Dates link.
7. All the candidates who have been allocated seatsin the 1st Round are required to login to the PG Online Seat Allocation portal and actively choose one of the following options within date and time specified in the Important Dates link:
Option 1. ACCEPT allotted seat and DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE in further rounds of Seat Allocation.
Option 2. ACCEPT allotted seat and WANT TO PARTICIPATE in 2nd ROUND of Seat Allocation [if You choose option-2 and participate in 2nd round and you are allocated another seat as per your choice in 2nd round, then you will have to join the seat allocated during 2nd round. The seat allocated in first round shall be considered vacated and the same shall be automatically allocated to other candidates in order of merit. Failure to join the upgraded seat shall lead to impositions of penalty of Rs. 3.00 Lakh.]
Options to REFUSE the allocated seat is NOT available. Therefore, the candidates are requested to fill the choices carefully and responsibly. Candidate himself/herself shall be responsible for their choices.
Failure to login and selecting an option after seat allocation within date and time specified in the Important Dates link will lead to forfeiture of the allocated seat and render the candidate ineligible for further rounds except open round of Seat Allocation (if any).
8. All the candidates who are allocated seats are mandatorily required (irrespective of whether they choose in Option 1 and 2 as mentioned in point no. 7) to report in-person (for reporting and/or joining) or through authorized representative (for reporting), to allocated Institute within the date and times specified in the Important Dates link. The candidates/authorized representatives are required to deposit original certificates/Deposit Electronically (RTGS/NEFT) Rs. 3.00 Lakh as specified in result notification of the seat allocation of the 1st Round at the time of reporting. Candidates who wish to make online payments instead of depositing Original Certificate, the procedure for the same will be published with the result notification of 1st round of Seat Allocation.
9. Candidates availing constitutional reservation must show valid proof of their claim for reserved seat at the reporting INIs when they are depositing original certificates. In case they do not possess a valid certificate then their claim for the allocated reserved seat will be nullified, and they will be eligible to appear in the further round as UR candidate subject to cut off in UR merit list. The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission in Central Govt. Institution. The validity of OBC/EWS certified shall be as follows: -
(i) OBC-NCL/EWS: The OBC-NCL/EWS certificates should have been issued between 27.10.2019 and 20.11.2020 (date of examination of INI-CET, Jan 2021), both dates inclusive.
(ii) SC/ST/PwBD: The SC/ST/PwBD certificates should have been issued on or before 20.11.2020 (date of examination).
10.Candidates availing PWBD horizontal reservation must show valid proof of their claim for allocated reserved seat at the reporting INIs when they are depositing original certificates. In case they do not possess a valid certificate then their claim for the reserved seat allocated will be nullified, and they will be eligible to appear further in their respective category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) candidate as applicable without PWBD reservation subject to cut off in respective category.
11.All disputes pertaining to the conduct of the INI-CET by AIIMS, New Delhi and Online Seat Allocation / Counselling will be subject to the jurisdiction of High Court of Delhi only.
12.The 2nd round will be initiated after completion of 1st round.
