MCC issues Notice on debarring Tamil Nadu candidates for NEET SS Mop Up Round, Details
New Delhi : Through a recent notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has informed that the candidates of in-service reservation quota whose Roll No. is mentioned in the list provided by State DME (Tamil Nadu) to the MCC and the AIQ joined candidates are not eligible to participate in the ongoing Mop-Up Round of NEET SS Counselling. Hence those candidates have been debarred from the counselling session.
MCC, DGHS has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct online Mop-up round for remaining vacant seats including 92 seats surrendered by State of Tamil Nadu for Super Speciality Counselling 2021.
As per order dated 09.05.2022 in W.P. no. 334 of 2022 (Dr. Ranjeeth Ram Kumar vs. UoI & ors.) before Hon'ble Supreme Court, the Hon'ble Court has directed as follows:
"The mop up round shall be held for all the unfilled/stray/vacant super specialty seats subject to the condition that any doctor who has joined a seat in the earlier round shall not be eligible for participating in the mop up round. Since the mop round is being held, a suitable extension of time may be granted for completing the admissions."
In compliance to the aforementioned order, a letter was sent to State DME (Tamil Nadu) to surrender the 92 seats & list of candidates who have already joined their allotted seat through Counselling conducted for in-service reservation by State Counselling Authorities.
Hence, the candidates of in-service reservation quota whose Roll No. is mentioned in the list provided by State DME (Tamil Nadu) and the AIQ joined candidates.
