Punjab- Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BUFHS) is going to end the registration process for the 2nd round of admission to MBBS/BDS courses in government/private colleges, private universities, and minority institutions in the state of Punjab today i.e., 10th September 2024. 

As per the schedule, for candidates applying under the NRI quota and Sikh Minority/Christian Minority Quota, today is the last date to apply for the 2nd round of admission to MBBS/BDS courses in government/private colleges, private universities, and minority institutions in the state of Punjab.

In case there is a change in the Provisional allotment after considering objections, the same will be displayed on the University website.

The provisionally selected candidates will pay the balance amount of the fee (A six-month fee after deducting the amount of the security deposit) through the university payment gateway available on the university website. They will report to the respective college for joining in the respective allotted college.

21.09.2024 to 26.09.2024

It is to be noted that the candidates applying under the sports category will have to submit the hard copy of the online application, sports graduation certificate issued by the Sports Department and relevant proof of sports achievements and educational certificates by 04:00 PM on 11 September 2024.

FEES

The amount of security to be deposited for submitting willingness will be as under-

1 For Government colleges - Rs. 10000/- (5000/- for SC/BC).

2 For both Govt. & Private Colleges – Rs. 2,00,000/-.

3 For Private Colleges – Rs. 2,00,000/-.

4 The application and security deposit fee for fresh applicants is Rs 5900/- (Rs 2950/- for SC candidates) including 18% GST.

The following candidates are eligible for 2nd Round of allotment-

i Group–I: Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotment in the 1st round.

ii Group-II: Registered candidates who have secured a seat & whose 1st round of allotted seats got cancelled during the document verification on reporting for admission will be considered for allotment of seat in the next round of seat allotment, with changed Category, subject to availability of seat in the respective category.

iii Group–III: Candidates who have reported at the allotted institute during 1st round of allotment and submitted willingness for second round up-gradation as Yes.

iv Group IV: Candidates who have been allotted a seat during 1st round but have Not Joined.

v Group-V: Candidates who have resigned in online mode within the time frame from the allotted seat of the 1st round at college.

The following candidates are eligible for 2nd Round of allotment-

i Candidate who has become non-eligible due to having inadequate documents as per Eligibility Criteria as per Punjab Govt. notification/MCC- UG.

ii Who has not registered in Round 1 or Round 2.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Q1 After joining 2nd Round of Counseling, whether one can leave/ Resign the allotted seat?

A Once the applicant joins the 2nd round seat, he/she will allowed to leave/resign the seat within the stipulated period but the security deposit will be forfeited.

Q2 If a candidate does not report at the allotted college during Round 2 whether he has to register again for Round 3?

A Yes, Candidate's security amount will be forfeited and he can participate in Round 3 only with Fresh registration and security deposit.

Q3 Whether the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round 3?

A Yes, the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round 3 but once, the candidate joins the upgraded seat in Round 3, he/she cannot resign/leave the seat.

Q4 If the candidate does not join the allotted/upgraded seat during Round 3, whether the security deposit be forfeited?

A Yes, the security amount will be forfeited.

Q5 When will the conversion of seats to open merit will be carried out?

A The conversion of seats of NRI and any reserved category after exhausting all candidates in a relevant category will be carried out during Round 3. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible Candidates belonging to the said Conversion Category have exhausted.

Additionally, BFUHS has also released the tentative vacant seat positions for the 2nd round of online counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, session 2024. As per the vacant seat positions, a total of 913 seats are tentatively vacant in all the dental and medical colleges of Punjab.
