Puducherry: The Government of Puducherry has informed regarding the additional seats for Postgraduate (PG) medical admissions under the Government Quota for the academic year 2025-26.

The details were communicated by the Health Secretariat to the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Puducherry, through an official order.

As per the official order, four additional PG medical seats have been made available in a private medical institution in the Union Territory. These seats are at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital and include two seats in Emergency Medicine and two seats in General Surgery.

The seat matrix outlines the category-wise distribution of these seats under vertical reservation norms. Of the total four seats, two fall under the General category, while one seat each has been earmarked for the Most Backward Class (MBC) and the Scheduled Caste (SC) categories. However, no seats have been allocated under other vertical or horizontal reservation categories for these additional positions.

The additional seat matrix has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority and is in continuation of its earlier communication. The release of the additional seat matrix is expected to facilitate smoother PG admissions for the 2025–26 academic year and provide more opportunities for eligible candidates under the government quota.
