DME Assam notifies round 2 NEET PG counselling schedule, details

Guwahati: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Assam has released the schedule for the second round of NEET PG 2025 counselling for admissions to postgraduate medical seats under the State Quota.

The round aims to fill vacant MD, MS, and Diploma seats in all Government Medical Colleges of Assam as well as Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati.

As per the notice, candidates who qualified NEET PG 2025 and whose names appear on the State Provisional Merit List are eligible to participate. Those who had already registered for Round 1 do not need to register again and can directly proceed to choice filling for upgradation or fresh allotment.

After this online choice filling will be available from 13/12/2025 to 16/12/2025, (5 PM). Locking of choice will be available on 16/12/2025 (4 PM to 11.55 PM), after which the choices will be locked automatically if not locked earlier by the candidate. Processing of seat allotment will be from 17/12/2025 to 20/12/2025. After processing the data, a college-wise and subject-wise list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed along with modalities of admission on 21/12/2025. The provisionally selected candidates shall have to get admitted in the respective allotted institutions on 23/12/2025 to 24/12/2025.

In a separate notification, the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam has directed 33 (Thirty Three) numbers of Post PG Senior Residents engaged in Bangaigaon Medical College, to submit their joining report within the stipulated period of joining. Assignment of duties etc. in respect of these Post PG Senior Residents shall be notified in due course of time.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has issued an extensive engagement order appointing 308 Post-PG Senior Residents across all Government Medical Colleges in the state. The appointments span nearly every clinical and non-clinical department—including Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, and more.

The selected doctors have been posted to institutions such as Guwahati Medical College, Assam Medical College (Dibrugarh), Silchar Medical College, Tezpur Medical College, FAAMCH Barpeta, Lakhimpur Medical College, Nagaon Medical College, Diphu Medical College, Bongaigaon Medical College, and Tinsukia Medical College.
