Eligibility –

1. Indian nationals can apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission.

2. Non-residents of India (NRI) or Persons of Indian origin (PIO) are eligible for management/NRI quota seats.

3. Candidates 17 years or above are eligible as of 31st December 2022.

4. Students must pass class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2022 admission. Students from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories need 40% and 45% marks in the class 12 examination.

5. Students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in class 12.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) has been conducted by NTA since 2019 for admission to undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family and MHRD. The exam is conducted once a year. No other test is considered valid for admission to undergraduate medical education.

The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the health needs of the State. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers with State of the art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.

Recently Medical Dialogues team reported that DME extended the date of joining up to 30th November 2022, 5:00 pm for NEET UG round 2 candidates. The selected candidate has to pay the Tuition Fee, as fixed by the Fee Committee, for downloading the Provisional allotment order online via Debit Card / Credit Card/Net Banking or RTGS. The selected candidates who already paid the tuition fee in round 1 of online counseling only have to pay the difference (if any) amount.
