Fact Check: MCC warns against fake notice on NEET Counselling deadline
New Delhi: Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has clarified about a fake notice being circulated on social media regarding NEET UG counseling 2022-23.
As per the notice, it has come to the notice of MCC and MoHFW that a fake notice purportedly dated 10.01.2023 issued by MCC is being circulated in social media. MCC clarifies that no such notice has been issued.
The fake notice states that the "Medical Counselling Committee of DGHS will conduct a special stray vacancy round for the vacant UG (MBBS/BDS) seats of All India Quota/Central University /Central Institute/Deemed University/UG in online mode the last date of admission is 20.1.2023. Since Medical Counselling Committee is in receipt of representations from several sates regarding extension of last date of admission for UG counselling 2022 -23, the competent authorities have decided that the timeline for AIQ counselling & state counselling should be on same lines. Therefore, all the state counselling authorities are hereby informed that last date of admission/counselling for state quota is extended till 20.1.2023."
Students/ candidates are advised not to take cognizance of such fake letters/notices and also not to forward or share fake information with any other groups. Necessary action will be taken against any person indulging in such malicious activities. Candidates must complain Cyber Crime Cell or an FIR.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is an organization under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and responsible for allotting seats for undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty medical and dental courses in government-run/aided colleges and deemed-to-be-university colleges. It allocates seats online based on the candidate's score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Factors considered during allotment are merit, reservation eligibility, and the preference list submitted by the candidate.
