INI CET July 2023: AIIMS Mangalagiri releases Eligibility criteria, Fee details
Mangalagiri: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Mangalagiri) has issued details about INI CET [MD, MS, DM (6 YRS), MCH (6 YRS) &MDS] for July 2023 Session.
The details includes information regarding institute specific eligibility criteria, salary/stipend, rules, leaves, hostel, admission fee, penalty on resignation etc. of AIIMS, New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Bibinagar, Bhatinda, Deoghar, Mangalagiri, Raebareli, Kalyani and Bilaspur etc.
The candidates joining MD/MS/MDS degree courses shall be called Junior Residents in the Clinical Disciplines and Junior Demonstrators in Basic Clinical Disciplines.
Number of seats –
The tentative number of seats available in each specialty for the July 2023 session will be uploaded separately. The number of seats may be increased or decreased. However final seat position will be displayed before declaration of result”. No seats will be uploaded after declaration of result in case any seats fall vacant due to resignation.
Eligibility –
MD/MS/MDS -
A candidate must possess MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS courses of a University recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training on or before 31st July, 2023. Candidates, who complete their internship after 31st July, 2023 are not eligible for Registration in this examination.
M.Ch. (6 years) / DM (6 years) –
The eligibility criteria are same as specified for MD/MS (3 years) courses.
Reservation of seats –
Reservation in Post-Graduate seats (15% for SC, 7.5% ST, 27% for OBC and 10% for EWS) shall be provided as per Govt. of India guidelines excluding Sponsored/ Foreign National candidates.
Reservation for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) –
For MD/MS -
1. As per provisions (Chapter VI Clause 32) of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act. 2016 Five percent of seats shall be reserved for Persons (Indian nationals) with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) The reservation will be provided on horizontal basis, as per their rank in order of merit in examination.
2. Vacant seat, if any, shall be offered to the candidate from the general/relevant category.
For MDS -
1. Seats reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) for the July 2023 session at all AIIMS will be published on AIIMS website with final seat positions.
Institutional preference –
2. By way of institutional preference the institutional candidates i.e. those who have graduated from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi shall be preferred for admission against 50% of total MBBS seats of AIIMS of the open general seats without any discipline wise preference, in accordance with the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and subsequent judgment dated 07-05-2004 of the Supreme Court in Saurabh Chaudhary Vs. Union of India W.P. (C) No. 29 of 2003 and connected matters. Detailed guidelines with roster for Institutional Preference will be uploaded on AIIMS website separately at later stage.
3. Similarly graduates of other AIIMS shall be eligible for preferential allotment of seats in the respective AIIMS only.
4. Any seat left vacant out of the AIIMS preferential seats or any other reserved seats shall be available to other open general category candidate in order of merit.
Contract –
1. Each Junior Resident will be on contract service for a period of three years.
2. Original certificates of any candidate who opts for a confirmed seat will be retained in the Academic Section. The same will not be returned to the candidate before completion of the course unless he/she deposits a sum of Rs.300000 once seat has been confirmed irrespective of the fact whether he/she joins the course or not. If any candidate who joins the MD/MS/MDS & M.Ch./DM (direct 6 years) courses, leaves the said course within six months of joining, he/she shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs.300000 and any candidate who joins the PG courses and leaves after six months of joining shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs.500000 as compensation for losses incurred by the AIIMS due to such midstream departure. The salary for the month in which his/her resignation from the PG seat becomes effective, shall also stand forfeited.
3. In the event of Post Graduate Student (MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCH) of AIIMS, Jodhpur leaving the course during counselling 300000 and after the last date of Joining of last/open counselling he/she shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs.500000 by way of compensation/losses incurred by AIIMS, Jodhpur due to such midstream departure.
Emoluments -
Junior Residents/Demonstrators (three years tenure period) will be paid a sum of Rs.15600 + Rs.5400 Grade Pay with the entry pay of Rs.56,100/- per month plus NPA and other allowances as admissible under the rules in the first year of the residency as per 7th CPC as applicable.
Selection of sponsored/foreign national candidates –
A combined merit list of the sponsored/foreign national candidates will be made. Seats will be allotted purely on merit on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test. Detailed requirements for Sponsored/Foreign National candidates are given on next pages under the heading “IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL EXAMINATIONS”.
Duties and responsibilities –
Duties and responsibilities of Junior Residents will be fixed by the Institute from time to time. They will be required to perform such work as may be needed in the legitimate interest of patient care in the hospital.
Leave –
During the term of his/her employment, he/she will be entitled for leave as under –
1. First year 30 days leave
2. Second year 36 days leave

Assessment –
At the end of first six months of the admission, each Junior Resident will be assessed and, in case his/her performance is not found satisfactory, his/her registration may be cancelled.
Submission of protocol and thesis –
The Junior Residents/Demonstrators registered for MD/MS/MDS course shall be required to get his/her plan of thesis protocol approved by his/her departmental faculty within 4 months of enrolment and submit it to Academic Section. If a candidate fails to submit the thesis protocol within the prescribed period, his/her registration will stand cancelled. The last date for submission of thesis for the students registered for MD/MS/MDS degree will be 30th June for those appearing at the December examination and 30th November for those appearing at the May examination.
For 6 years DM/M.Ch. course two Thesis are to be submitted by candidates and two protocols to be submitted as under -
1. 1st Protocol within 4 months of 1st year in Junior Residency from the date of registration/joining.
2. 2nd Protocol in 4th year in Senior Residency within 4 months.
3. The last date for submission of thesis for the DM/M.Ch. will be 31st August for those appearing in the December Examination and 31st January for those appearing in the May Examination.
Internal assessment –
Internal assessment/progress report should be evaluated periodically by the faculty members of the concerned department on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a candidate. The Head of the Department should send such an internal assessment/progress report of each candidate on regular basis i.e. six monthly and send to the Academic Section for official records. The weightage of the internal assessment/progress report i.e.20% marks of the candidate will be added in his/her final examination. [Ref. Notification No.4-7/2015-Acad.1 dated 22.06.2015].
Research Methodology Course –
MD/MS/DM(6years)/MCH(6years)/MDS candidates shall be required to attend the Research Methodology Course within one year of their joining and must clear the exit examination of the courses to be eligible for appearing for the final MD/MS/DM(6years)/MCH(6years)/MDS examination. Additional mandatory courses, as notified from time to time, may also be subject to the same conditions.
Certificate submitted at the time of admission –
1. Offer Letter

3. Registration Slip
4. Admit Card issued by AIIMS.
5. Mark Sheets of MBBS/BDS 1st, 2nd and 3rd Professional Examinations
6. MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate
7. Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the Head of Institution or College that the Candidate will be completing the internship by 31st July 2023
8. Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI or DCI/State Medical or Dental Council
9. HighSchool/HigherSecondaryCertificate/BirthCertificateinproofofdateofbirth.(Matriculation)
The Candidate should also bring the following certificate, if applicable -
1. SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority and should be in English or Hindi in language. Community should be clearly mentioned in the certificate.
2. OBC/EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority for central Govt. jobs/for admission in Central Govt. College/Institute. The sub‐caste should tally with the Central List of OBC/EWS. OBC/EWS Candidates should not belong to Creamy Layer. OBC/EWS certificate must be in the Central Govt. Format as prescribed in the prospectus.
3. Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board as mentioned in the prospectus.
Submission of application by candidates who are employed –
The Institute does not have any objection if the candidates in employment apply directly for the above postgraduate course. However, all such candidates should inform their employer in writing that they are applying for this Entrance Examination. They should also sign the undertaking in the down loaded copy of Registration Slip that they have informed their employer about the submission of the application to AIIMS. If any communication is received from their department/office withholding permission to the candidate's appearing at the entrance examination/admission to the course, the candidature/admission of the candidate will be cancelled, and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Requirements for admission of "sponsored" candidates –
1. Candidates who are permanent employees of any Central/State Government/Armed Forces or the Public-Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Body can be sponsored by the respective Government/Defence Authorities or the Competent Authorities of PSU/Autonomous Body.
2. A State Government can sponsor candidates only for those postgraduate (MD/MS/MDS courses which are not available in the State. A certificate regarding non-availability of the course (for which the candidate is being sponsored) in the concerned State, duly signed by the Secretary/Director General of Health Services of the Central / State Government/ DGAFMS/Competent Authority or PSU/Autonomous Body viz. Director/Executive Head of the concerned organization, should be furnished in the format prescribed for this purpose.
3. Sponsored candidate is required to register online & fill online application form indicating the choice of subject (only one subject). However, the candidate may be Sponsored for more than one AIIMSfor that subject only. All eligible “sponsored" candidates will be called by the Institute for an entrance test. Additionally, the Subject / Speciality to be filled in the Sponsored Certificate should be the same as mentioned in the Notice No.70/2023 dated 22.03.2023, otherwise Sponsored category may not be considered.
4. Seats as shown in the prospectus are available for "sponsored" candidates. Sponsored candidates will be designated as "trainees".
5. The subject for which the candidate is being sponsored should be clearly specified in the sponsorship form by the sponsoring authority. The candidate can be sponsored for only one subject. The applications of those candidates who are sponsored for more than one subject will not be considered.
6. No "Sponsored" candidate will be paid any emoluments by the Institute during the training period. Such payments will be the responsibility of the sponsoring authority (i.e. Central/State Government or Defense Authorities).
7. The candidate may upload scan copy of "Common Sponsorship Certificate" in the Final Registration form [on or before date specified under IMPORTANT DATES “AT A GLANCE" of Prospectus Part-A] and submit original certificate at the time of admission".
8. Those candidates who will not submit original Sponsorship certificate at the time of admission, their candidature will not be considered and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard. course.
Requirements for admission of Foreign Nationals/ Overseas citizen of India (OCI) –
1. Foreign nationals and OCI candidates are required to fill in the prescribed online application form indicating the choice of subject (only one subject) for admission to Postgraduate courses leading to award of MD/MS/M.Ch. (6 yrs.)/MDS degree.
2. The foreign nationals are required to send their Registration Slip of Online application through Diplomatic Channel. They are also required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination along with other candidates. An ‘Advance Copy’ is required to be submitted at AIIMS, New Delhi before the last date of online registration. However, the application of all such candidates will be processed only after receipt of the same through Diplomatic Channel.
3. The foreign nationals will be considered against the seats advertised under the "Sponsored" category for MD/MS/MDS courses. They should be registered with MCI/DMC/DCI before they will be allowed to join the said course. If they are selected for the same.
4. Seats are not reserved in any discipline for foreign nationals (except the bilateral agreement between the Government of India and any other nation).
5. Foreign candidates please note that the Final Registration must be submitted through proper channel.
6. Final Registration will be submitted duly recommended & forwarded by "Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (ME-II Section), Room No.539-A, New Delhi, Pin Code – 110001, India" along with "NO OBJECTION" from the political angle to the appearing in the INI-CET for PG courses for July 2023 on or before date specified under IMPORTANT DATES section of Prospectus Part A.
7. The NOC must be received at Assistant Controller of (Examination), Convergence Block, 1st Floor, AIIMS, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110 608 on or before date specified under IMPORTANT DATES section of Prospectus Part A by "Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (ME-II Section), Room No.539-A, Government of India, New Delhi, Pin Code – 110001, India".
8. No emoluments will be paid by AIIMS to the Foreign National candidates.
9. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI): OCI candidate must be upload the scan copy of OCI card on or before date(s) mentioned in Important Dates Section of Prospectus Part-A.
Submission of caste certificate by SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates –
The SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD certificates must be uploaded with online registration on or before date of examination as mentioned in the Important dates in “Prospectus PartA” of INIs for July 2023 session/Notice published. Candidate applying under OBC/EWS category must possess valid OBC/EWS certificate should be issued by competent authority. The OBC (NCL)/EWS certificate should have been issued as per dates mentioned in the Important dates in “Prospectus Part-A” of INIs for July 2023 session.
General Information -
1. If a candidate is at any stage found to have provided false information/certificate or is found to have withheld or concealed some information in his/her application form, he/she will be debarred from admission, his/her residency will be terminated with immediate effect.
2. If ineligibility is detected at any stage, candidature/admission of the candidate will be cancelled without any notice.
3. The decision of the Director of the Institute shall be final in the matter of selection of candidates for admission to various courses and no appeal will be entertained in this regard.
4. Selected candidates must join the course on the date stipulated in the letter of selection, failing which the selection/admission shall stand cancelled/withdrawn.
5. The selected candidates will have to submit the original Permanent Registration Certificate at the time of joining.
6. The selection of Junior Residents will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to pay fee/join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board appointed by the Institute. The decision of the Medical Board shall be final.
7. Each candidate selected for admission shall have to pay the fee/dues within the prescribed period failing which his/her admission shall be cancelled.
8. Private practice in any form during the course is prohibited. The period of training is strictly full time and continuous.
9. The rules are subject to change in accordance with the decision of the Institute to be taken from time to time.

Fees and other charges including hostel rent once paid shall not be refunded in any case and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection. However, the caution money will be refunded to those candidates who do not join the course. The caution money must be claimed within one year after completion of the course failing which it will be forfeited.
