Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Delhi) has issued a corrigendum on the INI SS July 2023 session sponsored category seat position for Foreign Nationals.

The changes have been made in sponsored seats at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. As per the recent seat matrix, 12 sponsored seats are for the courses below. A few seats have been newly added, and some seats are the same as mentioned in the prospectus. In the newly added seats, 2 seats have been added in DM in Forensic Psychiatry, and a new course DM in Neuroanaesthesia & Neurocritical Care has been added with 2 seats. Rest all courses; the seats remain the same as indicated in the prospectus.

Candidates note that for MCh in Neurosurgery if there are no candidates under the sponsored category, the seat will be filled by the institute stipendiary category of Post MS/DNB Category.

In addition, special remarks marked as # in prospectus page no. 36 Annexure-I & II regarding NIMHANS Sands modified having the following effect – NIMHANS does not have reserved seats for "Foreign Nationals" in the above courses.

However, foreign nationals sponsored/deputed by public sector undertakings/governmental organizations/recognized universities /national scholarships of any reputed/ recognized organization are eligible to apply.

Recently AIIMS added 8 seats for admission to INI SS July 2023 Session. The seats were added in AIIMS Raipur and AIIMS Nagpur. For both the AIIMS, 4 seats were added each. The courses included were DM Clinical Infectious Diseases, DM Medical and Forensic Toxicology, DM Paediatric Emergency Medicine, M.Ch Joint Replacement and Reconstruction, DM-Nephrology, DM-Neonatology, MCh Neuro-Surgery, and MCh Paediatric Surgery.

The entrance test for admission into DM/M.Ch./MD Hospital Administration Courses at Institutes of National Importance (INI) is held twice a year for the January and July sessions of respective years. The Institute of National Importance Super-Specialty Entrance Test (INI-SS) is the common entrance test.

The objective of INI-SS is to conduct a common entrance test for the preparation of a merit list as per the scheme of evaluation/admission applicable at different INIs for admission in super specialty courses at participating Institutes of National Importance and allocation of single seats to candidates based on their overall merit based on the synchronized allocation of seats.
