Both the medical and dental matrices provide an extensive category-wise breakup. Apart from General Merit and reserved categories, KEA has separately shown seats under categories such as NRI, OPN, GMP, GMPH and other quotas, along with special-category reservations.

The matrixes also separately identify Scheduled Caste sub-categories, with S1 representing SCA, S2 representing SCB, S3 representing SCC (80%) and S4 representing SCC (20%).

Candidates participating in the second round should therefore compare their preference list against the latest matrix before locking choices. A college that showed no vacancy earlier may now have seats available because of fresh additions, non-joining, surrender or restructuring of the seat matrix. However, eligibility depends on the candidate’s category and the type of seat for which they qualify.

The latest update gives MBBS and BDS aspirants another important opportunity to reassess their options before the next allotment. With new medical seats appearing alongside vacancies across established government and private institutions, candidates should carefully check the college, quota and category against which each seat is listed before finalising their choices.
