NEET 2024 final results OUT, Toppers down to 17 from 61

New Delhi- The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the final results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 exam. The re-revised result includes a list of toppers as well as category-wise cut-off marks and percentile ranks. 

The re-revised Result of NEET (UG) - 2024 has been declared based on the qualifying criteria prescribed by the National Medical Commission and Dental Council of India and also based on the information submitted by the candidates in their online application forms. The qualified candidates may please note that they have to further complete the formalities with the respective Counselling Authorities viz DGHS, Medical Education Directorates of States, etc. for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.

The NTA has provided All India Rank to the candidates and the admitting Authorities will draw a merit list based on All India Rank for the seats of MBBS/BDS falling under their jurisdiction, the press release in this regard stated.

As per the re-revised result, 17 candidates have topped the NEET-UG 2024 exam, up from 61 in the revised result, while thousands of other candidates have seen significant changes in their marks and rankings. Below are the details of the re-revised result of the said exam-

CANDIDATES QUALIFIED

2406079 candidates were registered for the NEET-UG 2024 exam in 2024, which is the highest number in the last few years. Of these 2406079 candidates, 2333297 appeared and out of these, 1315853 candidates have qualified the examination.

QUALIFYING MARKS DETAILS

Based on the qualifying criteria of NEET (UG)- 2023 and 2024, the NEET-UG exam also witnessed an increase in the qualifying marks this year. For instance, the qualifying marks range for the unreserved category was 720-137 in 2023, which has been increased to 720-162. Similarly, for OBC, SC and ST categories, it has increased from 136-107 last year to 163-127 this year.

INFORMATION REGARDING 15% ALL INDIA QUOTA SEATS

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India will conduct the Counselling for 15% of All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU, and AMU. Candidates may visit the website www.mcc.nic.in for further information. Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted. The details and schedule of counselling would be available on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Directorates of States.

INFORMATION REGARDING STATE QUOTA SEATS

For State quota and other seats falling under the ambit of States, candidates may apply to their domicile States, and a merit list as per State rules, based on All India Rank, will be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities. The counselling for Private Medical Colleges will also be conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the respective Counselling Authorities and Institutions concerned for further details.

INTER-SE-MERIT OF CANDIDATES FOR TIE-BREAKING

In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks/percentile scores in the NEET (UG) - 2024, the inter-se-merit shall be determined as follows-

a Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile scores in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test.

b Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry on the Test

c Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test d Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test

E Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test

f Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test

g Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test.

h Application Number in ascending order.
