New Delhi: The uncertainty surrounding the NEET PG 2025 counselling deepened recently as the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) reportedly temporarily announced a '2-3 day extension' for Round 1 choice filling, sparking widespread concern among aspirants before the notice was withdrawn.

Sharing the screenshots of the MCC's announcement, the aspirants soon started expressing their disappointment over the further delay in the commencement of the counselling process.

However, the notice has now been removed from the MCC's website, and the Committee has now advised the candidates to refer to the revised PG schedule available on the MCC PG website.

"This is to inform all candidates that the revised PG schedule has been uploaded on the MCC PG website. Candidates are advised to check the updated schedule," MCC has mentioned.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that, as per the last revised schedule for the NEET PG Counselling 2025, which was released on 16.11.2025, the NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Choice filling and locking process was supposed to end on 18th November 2025. Following this, the seat allotment process is scheduled to commence from 19th November, and the results are scheduled to be declared on 21st November, 2025.

Therefore, as per the last revised schedule, candidates will have to report to the colleges to confirm their admissions for the seats allotted to them in round 1 between November 21 and November 27, and following this, the MCC NEET PG Round 1 verification of joined candidates will be held between November 28 to 30.

Meanwhile, the said MCC's sudden notification on the choice filling getting extended has taken the social media platform X by storm. Reacting to the news, Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan termed this extension as "Unacceptable!"

"Delaying NEET PG counselling is damaging the future of healthcare. Our doctors deserve better and they deserve it now. Urging the authorities to stop this delay immediately," He wrote on the X post.

Speaking to Medical Dialogues, Dr. Khan, who is National Executive of FAIMA Doctors Association, said, "The repeated delay in NEET PG Counselling is deeply affecting thousands of young doctors. Their careers, mental well-being, and future training are all on hold. We request Hon'ble Shri J.P. Nadda ji and the concerned authorities to urgently look into this issue and take immediate action to end this uncertainty."

Commenting on the possibility of choice filling getting extended, he added, "The earlier notice has now been removed which means this may not be just another 2-3 delay, but possibly a much longer one. This lack of clarity is causing serious concern among doctors across India."

In an X post, Dr. Aman Maurya slammed the continuous delay in the NEET PG Counselling process, and wrote, "NEET PG counselling & delays — the never-ending love story. And right on cue: ‘CHOICE FILLING HAS BEEN EXTENDED’… again."

Questioning the role of authorities for the delay in NEET PG Counselling, Dr. Sumit K wrote on X, "NMC has turned PG/UG/SS counselling into a complete mockery. NEET PG 2025 counselling delayed for over 70+ days after the exam — and apparently only 2 out of 24 members are working. A totally corrupt, dysfunctional & impotent body."

Recently, Dr. Rohan Krishnan, the Chief Patron of FAIMA Doctors Association, had expressed his disappointment over the continuous delay in the NEET PG 2025 Counselling and wrote on X, "#neetpgcounselling2025 should be started immediately and results of first round should be out latest by 21/11/25. It is sad that @NMC_BHARAT is in no sync with @NbeIndia @MoHFW_INDIA & #MCC. NEET PG delay is a great deal of pain for young doctors & @FAIMA_INDIA_ demands immediate commencement of NEET PG Counselling & provide results of first round latest by 21/11/25!!!!!!!!! No response till then would result in Strong Measures from our end!!!!"

Later, when MCC released the revised NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule, he expressed his hope that the counselling schedule would not be delayed anymore.

"New schedule of #neetpgcounselling2025 is out. I thank @MoHFW_INDIA @NbeIndia for hearing us out and acting accordingly. I also thank #chairmanMCC for this. I sincerely hope that there will be no more delay. All D best to the aspirant. !!!" Dr. Krishnan's X post read.

When asked about the possibility of any further delay, Dr Krishnan told Medical Dialogues, "I sincerely hope there will not be any more delay, and the authorities will stick to the recently released schedule. Already, the young doctors are suffering immensely due to this continuous delay in starting the counselling."
