NEET SS 2025 exam analysis: Question paper Difficulty moderate, check out expected cutoff

New Delhi: The National Eligibility-Entrance Test examination for admission to super-speciality courses was recently held on December 26 and December 27, 2025, in two slots each day.

Based on the feedback received from the candidates who appeared in the examination, the question paper for the superspeciality admission test was of a moderately difficult level.

The NEET SS 2025 exam was conducted for 13 course groups. Among these, ENT, Respiratory Medicine Group, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Group, Medical Oncology Group, Orthopaedics Group, Critical Care Medicine Group, were covered on 26th December in two slots- the timing was 9.00 to 11.30 AM for slot 1 and 2.00 to 4.30 PM for slot 2.

On December 27, the exam question paper covered Medical Group, Surgical Group, Radio Diagnosis, Microbiology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Pediatric, Anaesthesiology, and Pharmacology Group.

The exam was held in the computer-based test (CBT) mode, and the question paper was displayed on the allotted computers. Candidates were required to submit their answers online. Candidates who appeared in the exam shared their feedback regarding the exam difficulty level, types of questions asked, and exam pattern.

As per the latest media report by Shiksha, based on the feedback from the candidates, the NEET SS 2025 exam was of a moderate difficulty level. Questions from some groups, such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology, were easy, and the questions from Medical and Paediatric groups were moderate. The Daily has further reported that the question paper for both Day 1 and Day 2 was moderate and the paper was lengthy and time-consuming.

Regarding the pattern of the NEET SS Question Paper 2025, Shiksha has reported that around 50 per cent questions were based on clinical experience, 30 percent were concept-based questions, and 20 percent were one-liner questions.

Based on the feedback from the candidates, group-wise, surgical group questions were of moderate level, Paediatrics group questions were moderate to difficult. The difficulty level was moderate for Medical, Ob & Gyn Groups, it was easy to moderate for ENT and Respiratory groups, and moderate to difficult for Respiratory Group.

Candidates were required to solve 150 questions in 2 hours and 30 minutes using their practical knowledge and understanding, exposure in integrated fields, speed, and accuracy. According to the group-wise and topics-wise weightage of questions in the NEET SS 2025 exam, the weightage of questions ranged between 70 and 87 for the Medical group, it ranged between 12 and 14 for the Anaesthesia Group, between 21 and 27 for the Surgical Group, between 10 and 13 for the Respiratory Medicine Group, and ranged between 8 and 10 for the Paediatric Group.
