NEET SS counselling 2025: TN DMER notifies tentative stray vacancy round schedule for inservice candidates, Rs 20 lakh discontinuation fees

As per the tentative schedule released by the TN Health Department in this regard, the registration and payment for the stray round opens at 10 am today, i.e. September 26, 2026, and closes at 2 pm the same day. All eligible candidates on the merit list can participate.

Following this, the choice filling and locking will begin at 4 pm on September 26 and continue until 12 noon on September 27, 2026.

The stray round result will be declared on September 27. Selected candidates will be able to download their provisional allotment orders from September 27 until 3 pm on September 28. The deadline for reporting to the allotted medical college is 5 pm on September 28, 2026. Below is the detailed schedule-

TENTATIVE STRAY ROUND COUNSELLING SCHEDULE FOR SUPER SPECIALITY (DM/MCH) COURSES IN TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGES 2025 SESSION

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Fresh Candidates who have not registered in Round 1 & 2 will have to remit a non-refundable amount of R s .1,000/- as processing fee online by using a Debit Card /Net Banking or Credit Card.

2 The candidates who have already registered in Round 1 & 2 need not pay again. The candidates who have been allotted and joined in Round 1 or 2 can opt for upgradation and need to register to arise virtual vacancy.

3 The candidates who have registered in Round 1 or Round 2 and have not allotted/not joined in Round 1 or Round 2 can register, choose, fill and lock at the time of Choice filling/Locking Schedule.

4 Clear and virtual vacancies will be displayed on the website. The seats may vary from the vacancies displayed on the website, due to upgradation of Round 1 or Round 2 allotted candidates.

5 The candidates who have been holding a seat in Round 1 or Round 2, if allotted a seat in Stray Round counselling, should definitely vacate the seat.

6 Candidates should be vigilant while filling choices.

7 Candidates have to ensure their preference for choice filling after carefully considering their options regarding Super speciality courses (their eligibility in multiple eligible broad speciality feeders).

8 There is no reservation in Super Speciality (D.M./M.Ch./DNB) courses in compliance with the Direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court in: i. W.P. (c) 290/1997 & W.P. (c) 444/ 2015.

9 Selection of candidates to Super Speciality (DM/MCH) course shall be made by the Online Counselling based on NEET SS rank. This counselling is exclusively for in-service candidates of the state of Tamil Nadu as per the order issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 02.12.2022 in W.P. (C) No. 53/2022.

10 Candidates selected for admission should give a self-declaration form at the time of reporting to the concerned Medical College that he/she is liable for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts or mis-interpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course.

11 Candidates should pay the tuition fee and then download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College on or before the date and time stipulated as mentioned in the allotment order.

12 Allotted in-service candidates who discontinue the course after the last date of joining should pay the Discontinuation Fee, besides foregoing the tuition fee already paid by them, to the Deans of the respective Colleges, the sum as specified below in total by means of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10”, payable at Chennai.

13 Unless the aforesaid discontinuation fee as penalty amount is paid in total, the candidates will not be relieved and original certificates submitted by the candidates at the time of admission will be retained by the concerned institutions.

14 The Selection Committee does not take responsibility for any Connectivity error.

15 Candidates, while downloading their provisional allotment order, should pay the non-refundable Tuition Fee via Debit Card /Net Banking or Credit Card.

16 The Tuition Fee paid at the time of downloading the provisional allotment order is non-refundable if the candidate does not join or discontinues the course.

17 The selected candidates have to pay any balance of the Tuition Fee (if any) and other special fees etc., at the time of admission in their respective colleges.

18 Candidates are instructed to visit our official websites frequently for more information and any changes in notifications from time to time as per Govt. policy, NMC norms and legal verdicts.

DISCONTINUATION FEES

Rs. 20,00,000/- to be paid by the candidates who discontinue the course after the end of counselling as per notification by Selection Committee/ NBEMS.

DOCUMENTS

The candidates should produce the following original certificates in person at the time of joining in their selected Medical College along with the scanned copy of original certificates to the concerned College-

1 NEET SS-2025-Score Card.

2 NEET S S-2025 Admit Card.

3 Aadhaar Card.

4 PG Degree Certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate.

5 Permanent Medical Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council or Provisional Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.

6 TNPSC/MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection & Posting Order for service candidates.

7 Eligibility Certificate, if applicable.

8 Postcard-size colour photograph (4”x6”), the same photo that has been uploaded in NEET SS-2025.

Candidates are instructed to produce the above-mentioned original Certificates/ Documents at the time of joining in the Medical College for certificate verification.
