PG Medical Seat Blocking Scam: ED Questions BRS Leader Narasimha Rao
Telangana- In an update to the medical seat fraud case, recently, Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials questioned Chalimeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences chairman and BRS leader Chalimeda Lakshmi Narasimha Rao.
On Friday, Chalmedha was questioned by the ED in connection with alleged irregularities in seat blocking among several persons. ED officials recorded Chalmedha’s statement in connection with the medical seats which were blocked by the management and were allegedly sold as charity seats to students by collecting huge amounts of money.
Allegedly, around 45 seats under the convener quota seats based on NEET PG merit were blocked using the names of students from northern states. Upon reaching out, university officials found that these students had never applied for admission to KNRUHS.
It is suspected that some private colleges manipulated these blocked seats by transferring them to the NRI quota for a hefty sum. During admissions, university officials flagged anomalies in the merit list of 45 applicants, later confirming that the candidates did not intend to take admission to KNRUHS, ultimately depriving eligible local students of their rightful seats, report TOI.
