UP DGME notifies revised round 2 NEET PG counselling schedule, guidelines, check details here

Following this, the merit list will be declared on December 15, 2025, followed by the online choice-filling process from December 15 (5:00 PM) to December 19, 2025 (2:00 PM). Below is the detailed revised schedule-

Along with this, through a notification, the UPDGME has released guidelines for candidates participating in the second round of UP NEET PG 2025 counselling. These instructions apply to MD, MS, Diploma, and DNB admissions in government and private medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh and aim to streamline the seat allocation and admission process.

According to the notification, the second round of counselling will be conducted strictly based on the revised merit list, and several rules governing seat retention, upgradation, resignations, fee payment, and eligibility have been clearly outlined. Below are the guidelines-

NECESSARY GUIDELINES REGARDING ONLINE COUNSELLING OF SECOND CYCLE UNDER UP NEET PG-2025

1 Seat allocation in the second round of counselling will be based on the merit list of the second round.

2 The candidates who are not allotted and admitted in the first round of counselling will not be required to deposit the security amount again to participate in the second round of counselling.

3 In case the candidates allotted in the first round of counselling do not take admission or resign after admission, there is a provision for free exit for the candidates; hence, if such candidates wish to participate in the second round of counselling, they are not required to deposit the security amount again.

4 During choice filling in the second round of counselling, the vacant/not reported and resigned seats of the first round will be displayed to the candidates as a clear-cut vacancy. In addition to the above vacancies, the option of Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) will also be displayed. SAC seats are a type of virtual vacancy. If the seat of a previously admitted candidate is upgraded, then as per the rules, his/her seat will be allotted to another candidate on the basis of merit and choice.

5 It is mandatory for the candidate to lock the choice after filling the choice. In case of not locking the choice, the candidate will not be included in the seat allotment process, for which the candidate himself will be solely responsible.

6 After the choice is locked by the candidate, no change or alteration can be made in it and no application received in this regard in the Directorate General will be considered.

7 If a candidate is allocated a different seat based on their re-allocation option, the previously allocated seat will automatically become vacant and be allocated to another candidate. In the absence of re-allocation, the candidate's previously occupied seat will remain unchanged.

8 The candidate must ensure that for re-allotment, other options/choices are filled only after leaving the option of the previously admitted seat; otherwise, in case the previously admitted seat is re-allotted, the candidate will have to appear at the nodal centre and complete the admission process as before.

9 Candidates must secure admission to a seat allotted through the second round of counselling for both government and private medical colleges. Otherwise, the entire security deposit will be forfeited. Such candidates will be eligible to participate in the third round of counselling only after depositing the security deposit again.

10 If the candidates admitted in the first round of counselling for government and private sector medical colleges do not take admission after re-allotment in the second round of counselling, then the entire security amount deposited by the candidate will be forfeited.

11 After allotment through the second round of counselling, the candidates allotted MD/MS/Diploma/DNB in ​​Government Sector Colleges will have to appear at the concerned Medical College/University/District Hospital and complete their admission process.

12 Candidates allocated to private colleges will be required to complete their admission process by appearing at the respective nodal centre. The name of the nodal centre will be indicated on the allotment letter.

13 Candidates allotted to private medical colleges must submit a CTS bank draft of the tuition fee determined by the government, issued in favour of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh (payable at Lucknow), at the concerned nodal centre. Otherwise, the admission will be automatically cancelled. The tuition fee determined by the government and the fee structure of minority institutions are available on the departmental official website.

14 Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Section (E.W.S.) candidates of Uttar Pradesh are informed that the certificate of Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Section (E.W.S.) dated 01.04.2025 or after will be valid only.

15 Reservation certificates will not be accepted in the form of certificates to be submitted for appointment to posts under the Government of India.

16 All certificates related to reservation (OBC, SC, ST and Economically Weaker Section) will be valid only if issued by the competent authority of Uttar Pradesh on the format prescribed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

17 Allotted candidates are required to undergo medical examination by the Medical Board constituted at the Medical College/Nodal Centre.

18 After receiving allotment/re-allotment from the second round of counselling, all the candidates will report to the concerned Dental College after completing the admission process at the concerned Nodal Centre.

19 The counselling process for all cycles will be conducted within the provisions of the Government Order and the brochure issued regarding policy formulation for NEET PG 2025. Therefore, please review the Government Order and brochure yourself before participating in the counselling process.

Moreover, UPDGME has also issued an important notification allowing candidates admitted in the first round of UP NEET PG 2025 counselling to resign their allotted seats within a specified deadline.

According to the notification, candidates who were allotted seats in MD/MS/Diploma/DNB programs during Round 1 and wish to surrender their seats may do so on or before tomorrow, i.e. December 13, 2025, up to 5:00 PM. The resignation must be submitted in person at the respective nodal centre, ensuring proper verification and documentation.

The DGME clarified that resignation requests submitted after the deadline or not verified at the nodal centre will not be accepted. This deadline is crucial for students who intend to participate in Round 2 for upgradation or prefer not to continue with their allotted program.

The notice further states that the resignation process will be carried out in accordance with the Government Order dated June 6, 2025, which outlines the terms and conditions governing postgraduate medical admissions in Uttar Pradesh.
