New Delhi- The Dental Council of India (DCI) has released yet another updated list of defaulter dental colleges that have not conducted or uploaded the Anti-Ragging Orientation Program 2023-24 report on the DCI Anti-Ragging online module.
The recently updated list includes the names of a total of 122 dental colleges in India that have not uploaded the Anti-Ragging 2023-24 report.
As per the previous list of defaulter dental colleges, a total of 125 dental colleges were named which had not uploaded the Anti-Ragging 2023-24 report.
The colleges had been directed to conduct an orientation program/workshop at their premises at the beginning of the BDS Course by inviting /calling any one member of the Dental Council of India from their state or neighbouring states (if not available in their state) for periodic training of the members of the anti-ragging cells/committees/squads of dental colleges and for awareness about ragging amongst students (freshers and seniors).
The colleges were also directed to furnish the following documents to the DCI office after the conduction of the orientation program-
1 Report of the Anti-Ragging Orientation Program.
2 Name of the DCI Member attended the said program.
3 List of participants in the said program.
4 Photographs of the said program.
Ragging is a criminal offence and hence the 'DCI Regulations, 2009' have been framed to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the menace of ragging in dental colleges.
Students in distress due to ragging-related incidents can contact UGC on the toll-free helpline 1800-180-5522 or the Dental Council of India on 011-23238542.
The Dental Council of India has been constituted by an Act of Parliament to regulate the profession of dentistry and also to maintain the highest standards of dental education in the country. It is the statutory and bounden duty of the DCI to take such steps which are required to be taken to maintain the highest standards of dental education in the country.
