As per a Free Press Journal news report, the day scholars claimed that they were assaulted by students from the hostel outside the campus who blamed them for the video. They claimed they were physically attacked after being forced to remove their glasses, and that a female friend who tried to help was roughly pushed away.
The first confrontation occurred on Monday near the Microbiology Department, where hostellers confronted day scholars, accusing them of creating the video. The situation deteriorated further on Tuesday evening when both groups clashed again on campus. The escalation prompted the college administration to call the police to control the situation.
Alleging that the hostellers beat them, the day scholars approached the college dean Dr Sanjay Dixit to voice their grievances. In response, Dr Dixit convened a disciplinary committee meeting to address the issue and counselled both groups on de-escalating the situation.
The disciplinary committee has been tasked with investigating the case and submit a report soon. Further, the dean informed about taking action against the culprits.
"Action against the students will be taken on the basis of the report submitted by the Disciplinary committee's report," Dr Dixit told FPJ.
