Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) invited the submission of proposals to the JIPMER Scientific Advisory Committee (JSAC) for August 2022.

As per the notice, the 7th meeting of the JIPMER Scientific Advisory Committee (JSAC) will be tentatively on 25th August 2022. The last date for submitting the proposal is today, 8th August 2022.

The applicants must use a combined format comprising Section - 1 (for JSAC) and Section - 2 (for Intramural Research Fund Committee). Please fill both Sections. The combined format https://www.jipmer.edu.in/integrated-forms-protocol-submssion¬jsac-imrf-version-1029th-july-2020 is available on the JIPMER website under Research.

An original hard copy of the research proposal, a Xerox copy of the same, and a covering letter addressed to Dean (Research) have to be submitted. Applicants note that the hard copy should be typed using both sides of A4 paper, in 11 font size with 1.5 spacing and page numbering. They will have to mail the soft copy of the proposal to jipmerjsac@gmail.com.

JIPMER has further notified that there can be only one co-investigator from the same department to discourage gift co-investigatorship. It applies to both the department of primary investigator and the department of collaborating investigator.

The applicants will have to submit the research proposals in the prescribed format. Deviating from the format will not be accepted. No subsequent modification of the proposals will be allowed. Only citing and listing references per the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) style will be accepted.

The JIPMER Scientific Advisory Committee was constituted in 2009 by including external experts to replace the JIPMER Institute Research Council. The purpose is to increase the quality of research undertaken in JIPMER. The research proposals generated at the institute need to have the approval of a scientific committee before being submitted to an ethics committee for consideration. JSAC performs mainly the function of consideration of research proposals of JIPMER faculty for quality improvement and approval.
