MBBS admissions in Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College to begin from 2021: Vij
Vij said that admissions will be processed for 100 seats in this college.
Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the admission process in Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College at Chhainsa in Faridabad district will commence from this year.
Responding to a question raised during the budget session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday, Vij said that admissions will be processed for 100 seats in this college.
He informed that at present, there are 12 government and private medical colleges in 11 districts of the state. Besides this, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay University of Health Sciences is also being opened in Kutail, Karnal.
The cost of construction of this college is estimated to be above Rs 750 crore for which work allocation has already been initiated. In addition, the National Cancer Institute has been set up by the Union Government at a cost of about Rs 2,035 crore in Jhajjar district.
He said that the government is committed to enhancing health services in the state, thus new medical colleges are being set up in 6 districts of the state, namely Bhiwani, Jind, Mahendragarh, Kaithal, Sirsa and Yamunanagar.
The construction work for these colleges has already been approved. Apart from this, the process of setting up All India Institute of Medical Sciences on an area of 225 acres of land in Manethi, Rewari is under process.
