Tanda Medical College organises competition to create awareness on ill effects of tobacco
Kangra: Poster-making and memes competition was organized on ill effects of tobacco and smoking in Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda on Tuesday. The competition was organized by the Center for Advancing Tobacco Control (Catch) and Community Medicine Department, Tanda under the theme "Tobacco-Free Tanda and Tobacco Threat Environment".
More than 30 students participated in this poster-making competition, organized to create awareness on ill effects of tobacco among the students of the institute. The Center for Advancing Tobacco Control is doing excellent work in the direction of making Himachal Pradesh a smoke and tobacco-free state, directly and indirectly with regard to COTPA provisions and FCTC provisions of the World Health Organization.

Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda has been declared as the first tobacco-free medical college of the state, only by the tireless efforts of Center for Advancing Tobacco Control (Catch) and the Community Medicine Department. Principal Bhanu Awasthi said, "Tobacco is a major obstacle in our mental and physical development. The government, citizens, and people of the private sector will have to make a united effort against this, so that this evil can be eradicated completely.
